MUKBANG: 먹방
Mukbang (or muk-bang; Korean: 먹방; meokbang; lit. "eating show") is an online audiovisual broadcast in which a host eats large quantities of food while interacting with their audience. Usually done through an internet webcast (such streaming platforms include Afreeca), mukbang became popular in South Korea in the 2010s. Foods ranging from pizza to noodles are consumed in front of a camera for an internet audience (who pay or not, depending on which platform one is watching).
In each broadcast, a host will often interact with their viewers through online chatrooms. With the rising popularity of these eating shows, hosts have found lucrative ways of benefiting from the online show. Many hosts generate revenue through mukbang, by accepting donations or partnering with advertising networks.

Every time you talk about your Dad, I can tell that it hurts greatly for Him to be gone. Ken you do a great job for us here in youtube land, and you're a great husband and father for your family. Your Dad did a great job with You and I know you will continue to make him very proud. Merry Christmas from my family to yours. Looking forward to 2018 with Ken!! 👍

Merry Christmas Ken, and for all your family memebers (boldog Karácsonyt az egész családnak!) I'm from Hungary, and this was lovely to see you enjoy our traditional food, keep up the good work, hope someday you will try kürtöskalács. And that wallnut cake, I think you were thinking about beigli, maybe it was "Eszterházy style cake" or "zserbó cube" (there is a jam -walnut mix in it) -Máté

When I was growing up we had a bone in ham for Christmas dinner along with all the trimmings. When most of the leftover ham was gone mom would use the ham bone to make a big pot of ham and beans. It’s true that nobody cooked food as good as you mom or grandma did.

The ham and beans leftovers was also a staple for me. I think I may have looked forward to the beans more than the ham dinner 😂

See now I really enjoyed this one...and I haven't liked any of your other mukbang videos. I'm here to watch you eat and listen to what you think about the food. lol, sounds funny when type it out...but it is what it is. And that's what you did...he ate a lot and talked alot about the food. My biggest complaint has been that you take a bite or 2 of food, then pause with eating, then talk about non-food related topics for a long period of time before taking another bite. This was SO much more enjoyable to me because you were taking bites during your stories instead of taking such long breaks. You also spent more time talking about the food which is always great. Granted I'm only 10 minutes into this video...but so far I'm actually really liking this one!

@twitchster77

I think you did a great job balancing this one. You made people like me who are here for the food happy...but you also made the people who enjoy the stories happy. also... 23:17 Personally I'd like you to keep doing them just like this one! Tell your stories like you did here in this particular video without taking long breaks between bites of food... And do as you did here and keep bringing your conversation back to the food throughout the video. I really did like this video...like I said, I haven't liked any of your other mukbang vids. And it's funny...I don't even like anything you ate in this one haha.

My great grandma used to make tacos for Christmas eve. Everyone would go over to her small house with a gigantic heater in the living room. We would eat tacos and then open presents. In the last few years she moved into a small apartment because her house was just getting too much for her to take care of so we dont do it anymore but I started doing that tradition just to keep it going.

Hi Ken, Merry Christmas to you too, I am from the Netherlands the part where I live is all the way in the south. Overhere we eat sour rabbit. The rabbit goes into a large bowl with 50% vinegar and 50% water for one night. Then we take the rabbit out and cook it with onions, bay leaves, cloves, then make a sauce with te vinegar and water where the rabbit was in. Add some apple syrup and melt some gingerbread into the sauce as wel. It usually gets served with mashed potato and brussels sprouts.

Greetings from Budapest! :D I think stuffed cabbage is one of our best meals, but let me tell you more: traditional goulash soup, unbeatable, - mákos guba- poppy seed dough, -somlói galuska- dumplings from Somló this one is amazing! - Körözött- Liptauer, you should definietly try this one with freshly baked bread and some red onions, plus it is super easy to make but your cottage cheese is not the same that we use in Hungary for this creme so the flavour is not gonna be the same, but it worth a try. :D

As a kid, and until my thirties, I made about 7-12 different cookies, cheesecake, rum cake, coconut cake with boiled custard. My Grandparents would have an open house and their neighbors would partake in illuminates along their sidewalk. Christmas Eve we would have ham and exchange gifts with my Mother's brothers family. Christmas Day was turkey. If we were at my Aunts house on Christmas Eve she had chili. (Ugh yeahhhhh) After I went to school for Culinary Arts, I changed the game. I made stuffed pork roast with cherry stuffing. Cornish game hens, beef crown roast, filet mignons, etc. We actually made cabbage rolls for New Years for Good Luck! Since my Grandparents passed away in 1997 & 2005, Recently my Father 12/19. It wasn't memorable. It will be interesting for 2020!

Hey Mr. Domik! I love to make homemade Cabbage Rolls and Goulash, but I honestly don't know if our family has any Hungarian ancestry. For my family's Christmas Eve tradition we always eat breakfast for dinner. Eggs, Bacon, and a "special" pancake (chocolate chip, blueberry, or funfetti). We have the standard Christmas dinner... Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, deviled eggs.... Thanks for your family stories. They are very interesting!

Ive never had any if these kinds of foods but you convinced me that i must try it! Im from Puerto Rico, we usually have a couple pots of Arroz con gandules which is yellow rice with pigeon peas, usually some bits of pork in it and olives and other seasonings. Pernil and/or roast chicken, pasteles, potatoe salad, macaroni salad, and coquito or pina colada for drinks. I love tostones (fried green plantains) and shephards pie (which i found out is cottage pie because its beef) so those became part of my familys tradition

I am Hungarian and we eat: Chicken noodle soup and a salad as starters, then fish (salmon and grouper and shrimp), potatoes, beets, steamed vegetables. Then later we eat stuffed cabbage but it is only a snack not a main course. For dessert: "bejgli" which is a homemade pastry filled with walnuts and poppy seeds. More traditional meal would be a fish soup. (it is just not popular in our family) Next time you eat a goulash soup put some fresh chili peppers in it. Merry Chrtismas!

We always did appetizers type plates. Mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, cheese and cracker plates, vegetable plates, fruit plates, jalapeno poppers, sandwiches, pot stickers, sliders, and one crockpot dish. My mom was always too tired and worn out to cook a large meal so she threw stuff in the oven throughout the day. We usually had leftovers for the next couple of days after that. We continued this with my fiance to this day! For the chopsticks, it's actually rude for all Asian cultures. That's what chopstick holders are for, and if you don't have any they are laid across your dish edge. My fiance was in Japan back when she was 16 and stabbed her chopsticks in a rice bowl. An older lady glared at her from across the restaurant and placed her chopsticks down correctly. I learned that same lesson years later.

I can't think of anything we usually have around this time. The last few years my dad has seemed to want fried chicken, especially chicken legs which we'd fry on a pan. We're a Hindu family so we don't celebrate Christmas but good food with some cake is expected. I usually will buy a cake and once or twice we have had ice cream at night.
@KBDProductionsTV
@KBDProductionsTV 6 лет назад
Very cool, thanks for sharing that. What would be an equivalent holiday and what would you eat?
@countroshculla
@countroshculla 6 лет назад
Well in Kerala, the state where I live, it would be Onam (mainly a Hindu harvest festival but everyone celebrates it as it is more known as a cultural thing, thought it has Hindu mythology tied to it). It' usually "sadhya" a vegetarian feast - rice, pappdoms, some veggies and like many curries (can go upto 20 or more) served on a plantain leaf at noon. At the end you have a hot payasam (or kheer) which is a milk based desert. And then you can't move for the rest of the day :D Evenings we have evolved to having alcohol (which older people in their late 70s or 80s might frown upon) and meat dishes (like anything). But the afternoon rice & many curries feast is traditional.

Great video, Ken, thank you :) Here in Finland we traditionally eat different types of casseroles and rosolli salad with Christmas ham and Finnish mustard, although I prefer Dijon honey mustard. My favorite Finnish casserole is traditional rutabaga casserole (Lanttulaatikko) but carrot casserole (Porkkanalaatikko) is also very good. A well made rosolli salad is excellent and if you haven't ever tasted a real Finnish Christmas tart (Joulutorttu), you're missing a lot, it's a "Go Out and Get It Now" dessert :) They are made with puff pastry and prune jam which you can buy ready-made from store. You can also substitute the prune jam with your own filling, like mixing chive cream cheese and ham. That is excellent as well. Merry Christmas, Ken, or should I say, Hyvää Joulua ja Onnellista Uutta Vuotta 2018, Ken :)

Great mukbang! Nice to see you talking about your background. The goolash soup looks delicious & and I've always loved cabbage rolls personally, but I've never had them with sour cream...but I love that too lol Merry Christmas to you & the family!
