This song means the world to me, seeming to fit me so well, as I am a trans male. The added lyrics just fit even more and make this song that much more emotional. I can't help but hear this as a trans guy's inner voice. He is a girl on the outside, and his voice is likely nothing like this yet, but inside? That voice? That's who he really is, and he wished his body matched, but he's so afraid of the judgmental world we live in to show who he truly is. I just-- I really loved this, Caleb. It means the world to me.

As an Asian transman, this cover hit me hard. My parents were devastated when I came out and it was honestly one of the worst things that's ever happened to me. They seriously thought they raised me incorrectly and that they messed up somehow. My greatest fear came true and I've never felt more betrayed than that day. I started crying at the 20 second mark and now I can't stop crying. This touched me deeply and I thank you for doing such a beautiful cover of my childhood Disney film.

This song meant so much to me growing up. I never knew how much until I discovered I was transgender. I was scared to come out, but my parents and some of my family was accepting. But I felt a lot of hate and I felt hopeless. I just rediscovered this song, and this absolutely beautiful cover today. I am 3 years on T, 2 years post op on top surgery. This made me really emotional. I haven’t heard this song in a while, but it has a whole new meaning now that I know who I am inside. I refused to look at a mirror for years and when I imagined myself, it wasn’t who I was. For pretty much my entire life I wasn’t even sure what my own face looked like. Then I cut my hair. Now, I look in a mirror and know who I am. Now, I feel happy when I look in a mirror. I have never felt this way before when I looked in a mirror. My self-esteem has risen because of it. I am so happy that I can somewhat look like the boy I am inside, and one day I know I will be the boy I wish to be. Thank you so much.

As someone adopted from Korea, but grew up with white parents and siblings, though loving, they never understood the internal struggle I had. I wasn't white, but other Asian's didn't see me as Asian. I was also a huge tomboy growing up, I liked cars over dolls, I hated dresses and would put pants on any chance I had OR I would ruin dresses via climbing trees. I didn't do it on purpose, it was what I found fun, not tea parties and playing dress-up. I grew up playing hockey instead of figure skating. I wasn't a typical girl. As an adult, I like 'girly' things, but I can also kick ass in heels. And even then I'm not girly enough or me liking makeup/sewing is a surprise to people. My English is 'surprisingly good' even though I grew up in the states, I'm not Asian enough, I'm not American enough, I'm always made fun of for being short, I get teased at work as its 90% males but I can pull my weight and then some (literally. I am a firefighter), I get doctor and lawyer jokes, I'm the youngest in my family so I'm treated like a baby even though I'm an adult and because I'm female many men size me up quickly. My reflection will never match who I am. But that isn't what defines me. My actions define me.

I had to hide my kindness from the world as people kept abusing it. Not only that, but I am nonbinary, and no one but my mom, siblings, and boyfriend would accept me. I'm no Trans and yet I find this song extremely powerfull, even as a male, if you simply change the pronouns anyone can identify themselves with the lyrics : I have to behave in a certain way aswell in order to please most people I meet and therefore surpress some of my emotions so much that If I were to look into a mirror I'm not sure i would recognize myself.
