You sure you’re not over flashing the under base? Seems like along time under the flash

Is there such a thing as over flashing? If the shirt isn't burned or shrunk, it's fine.

You can overflash, causing delamination. In this case the platens were cold for the demonstration so it was bit longer than normal@@jeffseery982

@@jeffseery982 I think you’re getting mixed up with over curing, I’m talking about over flashing the white base, if it’s over flashed it’s basically cured and the top colors won’t adhere properly

I was thinking the same thing..when I think I have over flashed,I take that material to the heat press.. Dude was 23 seconds.and 25 seconds.the 2nd layer of paint will come off..I went through a stage were I would just heat press all my screen print jobs..did a job that I thought passed stretch test..I had to re due a job..it messed with my confidence....lately I have been having issues with moisture in 50ty polyester and 50ty cotton.on navy blue...Wilcox white paint like to cure at 330.the other paint I was using didn't need that hot of heat and would die migrations..I had to do way too many flashes.i should have used a underbase white on other color..which I end up doing.made a new screen.. The heat press is a life saver at times..I would pre flash material for 30ty seconds.well that wasn't long enough I guess cause when I would Lazer Check temperature.the steam was real .I thought shit was on fire at first..lol People think screen printing is easy also..they have no clue how bad screen printing can be at times.....I thought my oven was not working right to cure also....a good screen printing could have issues with equipment and not know it ,thinking they are not doing job right....

What do you use 230 mesh for white down?
@leberdesign

Yes, not always but often

230 for a soft-hand base works just fine. I like the bend on a 180, personally.

@@jeffseery982 We use 230 for all of our whites, good coverage with soft hand is our goal but isn't the right fit for everyone's customer base

@@leberdesign oh since you don’t want too much ink layed down for a white down? Just enough to make colors pop on a white down?
@leberdesign
@leberdesign 7 месяцев назад
You got it! Just enough to create a base for all the top colors to sit on. Nothin more than that is needed. Upside of this is that once you can understand the color theory and get proper EOM you can use almost any color for the underbase and strategically it can make your other colors look even better @@SPYLXER
