Thank you for sharing. Often, I use a small wire loop instead of the thread loop. The wire's stiffness makes it easier to control during whipping. BTW, the wire of the bail handle on a Chinese food takeout box is almost perfect for this purpose. It's fine gauge. It's sturdy and stiff. Also it doesn't rust. Happy holidays. Wish you well.

Finally! A project that I could figure out.

The method I have done for the past 40 years is similar however I do mine tight to start and when I pull the end back under I cut it short so it finishes just before the start so it is hidden. I was taught to make the whipping length the same as the rope diameter and 1 and a half times the diameter from the end of the rope. Not a rule but just the way I have always done it.
