First of all, after v1 you must take out your hands of the thrust levers… they missed call out “thrust set” during the roll and they were making a lot of procedures in the runway… if you all will teach and show people studing a320. Make sure to make it correctly …

CRM basics, many mistakes! Transfer of controls prior briefings was completely absent , pilot flying manually should never push or select anything.

This video is full of mistakes .. hands on throttle after v1, wrong fma callouts etc.

I also doubt you would be slamming thrust all the way. I don't think your airline would like that.

Hi Briam, As it seems you are not familiar with Airbus procedures let me explain them for you. In case of go around (which was the case in this video) pilot flying is supposed to select TOGA (take of / go around). Feel free to check it in FCOM and FCTM if you have them at your disposal of course ;).
@polumordvinov
@polumordvinov 6 лет назад
Not autothrotle! Airbus has autothrust. When going around you have to make a call out "go around"! Pilot flying is forgetting about checklists. When reading after take off checklist PF seems to check it only on flap lever, not on ecam. Etc.
@vorontsovsemyon6897
@vorontsovsemyon6897 6 лет назад
I do not sure about flaps checking, because flaps lever can be at position 0, but due to hydraulic failure or flaps/slats jamming actuall configuration can be still 1 for example or vice versa.

the spoilers are either missing from the after T/O checklist, or something else is wrong. Every time after take off the F/O is like "oh! spoilers disarm" Why is that?

Yes, seems like an afterthought all the time.

Nice video guys! Congrats to both Marija and Rimantas for stepping in front of the cameras and trying to explain something for others who don't have access behind the cockpit doors. Yes the video has some mistakes but considering the fact that none of them are TR for the A32F I would say they did pretty good job! Anyways keep up the good work!

These people have lives - we can't expect the same guy to do these videos for years and years.. they're in school for a reason. To become pilots, and move on from school. Would you rather have no videos? Because at this rate, Christmas is cancelled.

11:47 First Officer missed the "Positive Rate" callout for Gear up. 4:17 Minimums are 359ft, yet she went all the way down to 200ft ( 11:20 ). A good pilot practise would be that you start TOGA 100ft before or at minimums according to my A320 instructor having over 25k hours of total flight time. All in all, awesome video guys!

Generally remember DA (decision altitude) is used for a precision (ILS) approach and not an MDA, as I understand. You decide a go-around/continue _at_ DA and are allowed to go slightly below on a go-around. And also remember difference between AMSL vs RA for the minimum callout.

Great video, I have one question: why do you set the heading on the autopilot if you’re flying manually? My understanding is that you set a heading when the A/P is engaged but I saw something different here. Why is it so? Thank you very much!🙂
@nielyeehk
@nielyeehk 6 лет назад
They are setting the heading bug. It's a little magenta dotted line that shows up on the ND to assist with the roll out.
@firstcapt75
@firstcapt75 6 лет назад
It’s mainly used to control FDs used as reference by pilots
@Sethorion99
@Sethorion99 6 лет назад
I once heard a 737 pilot say in a livestream that it helps them remember where they're going, and that it's also very embarrassing if you forget to check the heading bug before you enable the autopilot - too late to find out it's off in a weird direction.
@cheburatorish
@cheburatorish 6 лет назад
Personally I see no reasons to fly manually with flight directors. It is just same job that the autopilot would do. There is no failure which would incapacitate the autopilot but leave the flight directors unaffected, afaik. So let the machine do the machine's job and save the crew resources for the crew's tasks.

I am fixing up a kid's bike at the moment and i can clearly see the many mistakes, the spoilers especially, this plane would have stalled, checklist is too casual, much more discipline is required in this cockpit, nice girl though, if i was going to die i would want her in the seat.
@federicspeti5394
@federicspeti5394 5 лет назад
wow this girl just busted minimums so bad.. She even noted that our minimums are gonna be 359. at 400 - no ground visibility 300 - still no ground visibility, the copliot calls out minimums (late tho) and the captain keeps waiting til 200

That's not how it works. You brief minimums as an altitude referenced to sea level (AMSL), the call-outs are based on the radar altimeter so they are referenced to the ground (AGL). The minimums are 359ft AMSL, with airport elevation of about 180ft that means the 200ft AGL call out from the radar altimeter is at 380ft AMSL so above minimums.
