Nice video, I'm currently training for my multi-engine add-on and enjoyed this short video. I think that's a pretty good pace for your engine out steps.

MiGueL thanks man I’m glad you enjoyed the video.. The way that made sense in my head was immediately establish blueline, then mixture, props, throttles forward and reduce drag (gear/flaps). After that iD, verify and then troubleshoot with the checklist time and alt permitting. I just kept running that through my head and it stuck. Fairly simple really once you do it a few times.. Enjoy the training man

Hi, awesome videos! I really enjoy your work - especially since I'm going to start pilot school this January. I have a question... I am really concerned about how the stalls feel like? Are they like a drop in a rollercoaster, or does it just feel like turbulence? I am pretty nervous about how it feels and if it is too much. Is your experience that the student pilots easily getting used to it, or does it take time?
@LewDixAviation
@LewDixAviation 5 лет назад
Hey man! Thanks for watching the videos and i'm really glad you're enjoying them. In response to your question, stalls are the most feared thing at the beginning of training but once you do one you will see how easy they are and won't be scared anymore. My advice to you would be to take the time now to understand the aerodynamics behind a stall, and understand that the plane is not 'dropping out of the sky'. It is not a full reduction of lift, your wings are still flying. When the plane stalls it is just telling you "hey, you reduced the airflow over the wings, I want it back!". Push the nose down and add power and it will recover quickly. Trust me they are so easy and nothing to be worried about. I was scared at first too, but now i love them. And they feel nothing like a rollercoaster. Actually a rollercoaster is more scary, because you are not in control of a coaster. YOU ARE in control of the plane. It does what you tell it to do. Hope that helps.

Can I be PIC of a Twin with one engine off? I have my PPL ASEL. I bet the FAA wouldn't mind!
@generalrendar7290
@generalrendar7290 5 лет назад
You don't know what you're asking for. You lose about 80% or more of your performance when you lose an engine in a twin. They are fun to fly though!

@@LewDixAviation I just watched Bold Methods video on it.... I think my leg would get tired from all that rudder and land ASAP lol I hope to do some multi training in the future for sure. I think that's when I would start going into debt real fast haha.
@LewDixAviation
@LewDixAviation 5 лет назад
RollTide8569 man my leg was shaking after the flights with the amount of rudder needed haha.. I agree with the debt thing lol.. The only reason I got through it was because the airline I’m gonna fly for paid for it.. Thank god lol

James O'Dowd bit over the top having to wear uniforms to train isn’t it? Haha I completely disagree with being made to wear one but schools do that here. The airline that I’m gonna be flying for sent me to a school to do my multi that makes you wear one
