This is the third part of the multi-process welder comparison with the Hitbox Synergic MIG 200 Pro, Yeswelder Firstess MP200 and the Fronius Transsteel 2200. In this video I test stick welding output and features and the lift TIG characteristics.
As requested by several viewers, I have set up a Patreon account. Any support is appreciated, but absolutely not required.

Here Here Also been waiting for this. I just got the yes welder MiG 250 pro machine. Was wondering if you have had a chance to check it out. Seems really hard to believe that it can output 250amp with such a small cooling fan that it has. as opposed to the Amico stick welder that is much bigger..I have also just noticed that yes welder just released a new 200 amp multiprocessor machine that apparently has hot start and arc force for the stick function. just saw a video of it on YT. Keep up the great work .

I've had the MIG 250 pro in my list on Amazon for a long time. It was recently on sale and I almost ordered it. I think the main thing that held me back is how many projects I already have, lol. I've read somewhere that someone tested it and it supposedly had the full output. It definitely sounds hard to believe.

Yeah it on sail for 399.00 with a prime discount. so I pounced. have only tried it out with flux core wire briefly. need to try it with co2 and argon w/ solid wire and also try it with stick rods. maybe ill try putting a clamp meter on it and see what the actual output is and how accurate the reading is.

Great video as usual. I hope you get a TIG torch that will work on the Hitbox and review that sometime. I got higher readings on my hit box while MIG welding, but I was using straight CO2 gas. I just uploaded my video containing that test. I look forward to more of your videos.

Another fair, informative video. I have had my MT200 since March. For someone just getting into welding it was an okay buy at the Kickstarter price, but the false advertising truly pisses me off. While technique is still the cause of most, if not all, of my bad welds, the 50A TIG start current is a big deal that I wasn’t aware of at all. That actually explains issues I’ve had blowing through thin material, despite being on the lowest setting. I guess a copper plate to start the arc should help that? I have one, but hadn’t used it very much. Also, from everything I’ve read/seen, and even your demo, the MT200(160?) is scratch start. Hopefully your reviews get out so folks know exactly what they’re getting. Keep ‘em coming!
@bigtb1717
@bigtb1717 2 года назад
Starting the arc on a piece of copper can definitely help. I have a copper "spoon" from Harbor Freight (basically just a piece of copper on the end of a handle) that I use for really thin stuff sometimes. If you can get yourself a few pieces of scrap aluminum, it can also help a lot to clamp a piece of aluminum as a heatsink to the back of thin pieces to help prevent blow-through.

I have not use the tig function on my 2200 very much, but it works well every time I set to use it. My only regret is that I just don't have the time to do a lot of tig welding. Mostly mig then stick. Yes I would like to see some tig projects done, that may twig me to do more tig.

I started by just doing weld after weld on a couple of 1/2” plates. It definitley got me over the freshman jitters! Had to force myself to get back to stick for heavy stuff after a couple months.

These are awesome review videos! How are you liking the Fronius 2200? are the internals as impressive as the transpocket 180 you reviewed? the build quality of that thing was really impressive in comparison to the ESAB. I wonder how they compare to a miller? cheers
@bigtb1717
@bigtb1717 2 года назад
I haven't used it much outside of these reviews, but I like it. I haven't opened it up yet. The Transpocket is definitely a well made machine. Maybe I'll compare it to a Miller some day. Just need to save up, lol. Millers are getting super expensive.

@@bigtb1717 Ya seriously, I'm trying to decide between the Esab 205 acdc or the Miller 220 acdc, but the miller is extra pricey (or rather, the store is including all kinds of extras with the Esab). Also thinking of instead going with the Fronius 2200, or the Miller 255, then getting a cheaper dedicated ac/dc tig machine.
@bigtb1717
@bigtb1717 2 года назад
I was trying to decide between the Fronius 2200 and the Millermatic 235. In the end I went with the Fronius because it came with the TIG torch for less than the Miller without and it was dual voltage and a bit smaller. I think the price has gone up again since then, maybe on both. When the MM235 came out it was $2,000 and now it's up to $2,900.

@@bigtb1717 Did you look at the HTP pro pulse 220? I'm in Canada, otherwise I think that's what I'd go with (not sure how the warranty process would work across the border). I do like that the Fronius can do aluminum with a 15' whip though, I think the HTP is just 8'.

I have a Miller torch adapter and at least one CK adapter. I may just modify one of those to fit the dinse plug on the Hitbox. I'll probably try to modify/repair the Tooliom one to make it work good enough to test the welder. We'll see.

TransSteel it is, then, if I didn't already have a Lincoln Electric Precision TIG 225 TIG, which I think I paid near the same price back in 2007. I would be inclined to purchase NOT chinese, next time, again.

My gut tells me it will be much better than the Yeswelder, but I haven't personally tried it.
@bigtb1717
@bigtb1717 Год назад
In terms of MIG, I would be shocked if the Everlast wasn't far better than the Yeswelder. The Yeswelder MP200 runs cold and not very smooth and is extremely limited in options and features. The MIG mode on the Everlast has far more features and better specs. The plasma cutter on the Everlast has a pilot arc, which alone would make me prefer the plasma cutter on the Everlast over the one on the MP200.

Is the downslope and post flow adjustable on the fronius?
@bigtb1717
@bigtb1717 Год назад
Yes, both are adjustable. As well as gas pre-flow, upslope, there is a tacking mode, pulse mode, and more. It's a surprisingly full featured TIG machine, it just doesn't have high frequency start.
