I loved this movie and have seen this and other versions many times..but this is my favorite version... I wish I'd known the year the Bishop visited His Royal Highness Playboy... loved the costume and although I got lost a few times but it's because I'm multitasking.... The Emperor's last wedding scene was quite exquisite with costumes and bright colors. I can only imagine the richness of China at the time and if only they knew that we existed on the other side of the globe with our many nooks and crannies... Now what was Consort Mei's role in all these.. At first I thought she was finally marrying the Emperor in his last wedding but then realized that it was Yujuan (wife of Prince Mao) marrying the Emperor and somehow now Consort Mei was standing next to Prince Mao). Did that make any sense at all??? Not to me, but then I watch because of the beautiful costumes....

While the cinematography was beautiful, I did not like the movie. Perhaps it was too short to go into characters motives. Based on what was shown, I didn't see true love between the Emperor and Yang Guifei. I felt sorry for Prince Mao. The Emperor didn't make good decisions at all so I'm not sure why the Tang Dynasty became so great.
Don't forget Rome is byzantine empire consisting of modern Turkey...1/10 tenth of TANG.... Rome were primitive at that time compared to TANG (CHINA)🇨🇳🤔🤔🤔

Prince Mao and Yuhuan call have fought for their love better. Hate how Prince decided tk kill their child and how Yuhuan allowed herself to fall for his Father-in-law and became his wife.
I totally agree. I felt the Prince and Yuhuan had a happy marriage prior to the Emperor's interference. He did try to fight for her when he came in the Emperor's room with his sword. That is grounds for death so I guess that's why he decided to save himself. She is 30 something years younger than the Emperor. She's 26 and he is 60. I don't understand why she would fall for him when he used tricks to get her to become his wife.

If only the Eunuch didn't started abit of rumours this story end differently and if the Empress Poison the Eunuch tea after that tere may not any history about her,NOW after finishing is this the true account or was some made up because I grew up listening to this ,She is one of china four beauty but I don't remember that it end like this and she in tears most of the time in this movie that's something new to me ....wish there is more to the end still like something is missing here ???

You can tell a lot of money was spent on making this movie, but it is so weird. Characters are shallow and it doesnt feel like real people. Its just stupid. 😢
