I first came across the "Dabke" dance years ago after making friends with a bunch of Jordanian guys. My American fiancé has never seen or heard of this dance so this should be a fun watch for the both of us
I'm Australian Lebanese, we're a massive community down under, plenty videos online of Lebo wedding entrances and Dabkes in Australia. I have to say that my favourite non arab invites in the parties we have here in Bankstown Sydney, are my British immigrant mates, fellow tradies in construction etc (newish immigrants) that are allways happy to come along. The "scousers" especially, go completely ballistic after a few drinks and really get into it, funny to watch and be around them, they've got zero shame and it's really entertaining to be around them when compared to other white or "anglo" people that are rather pretty boring. I've seen drunk northern English c*nts interpreting Dabke with an Irish twist after 24 beers at my sister's wedding🤣🤣 literally pissed my pants! Northern English immigrants are actually very simmilar to us arab guys here, all grew up in council estates over there etc
Just to mention each country has its own dabke style but I have to mention that Lebanese regions each have a different dabke style and it also differs from women to men. Also, from what I know is that dabke originated from Baalbeck Lebanon. Nice video :))

This is how and why divorce is Anathema in the Levant: (1.) The blowout $1M Wedding & Reception, paid for by the father of the Bride - Reception replete w/ Grand Dabakah Entrance and Blowout One-Time Milestone-Event Ḥaflah; (2.) The husband loves his wife and sacrificially provides for the family as the Protecting Patriarch, in working tirelessly day and night for them, and in siring his belovèd offspring by his loving wife; and every once in a while, he throws a Ḥaflah replete w/ Dabakah for his family's family and friends; (3.) The wife loves her husband and sacrificially obeys him in his rôle as family leader as the Family Matriarch, whilst cooking for and feeding her family, in bearing and raising belovèd offspring for her loving husband; and every once in a while, she helps her husband in throwing a Ḥaflah replete w/ Dabakah for her family's family and friends; (4.) If - God forbid - "the husband and wife should grow out of love with each other"; which is practically impossible, yet still unfortunately an actual although thankfully rare probability; then all the husband has to do is remember how much his wife faithfully loves him and their family and how she cooks for them and feeds them and raises the children she bore for him, whilst also helping him once in a while to throw a Ḥaflah replete w/ Dabakah for their family's family and friends, and all the wife has to do is remember how much her husband faithfully loves her and their family and how he works tirelessly day and night to provide for them and how he helps her to raise the children he sired by her, whilst also choosing once in a while to throw a Ḥaflah replete w/ Dabakah for their family's family and friends; and by this joyfully nostalgic mnemonic exercise in gratitude, they each will be able to count the key ways by which they actually do love one another in the end; and (5.) Faithfully remember (1.) - (3.) until death do you part, and in case of dire emergency, break open (4.) and repeat as many times as necessary. You then will die happy. This Is The Levantine Way: And in the Levant, The Dabakah is the glue that holds families together and keeps the dreaded spectre of Divorce at bay. After all, they say that the Dabakah began in Levantine antiquity as a means by which to keep the roof of one's house from cracking in the Winter.
