Multiparametric MRI for Prostate Cancer Diagnosis 

I realize this is video is out of date but the point about radiologists coming up to speed is a good one but needed expansion. 1. No urologist possesses the expertise to educate any radiologist on the subtleties of instrumentation, low versus high field, pulse sequence design and use of endorectal coils versus dedicated external coils. 2. Urologists understandably, if recently trained in luminary institutions where this technique has been perfected ,must understand that you cannot walk into the radiology department, demand multi parametric MRI and then declare the radiology department and the radiologist incompetent because they are not able to deliver what the urologist has previously seen elsewhere. The provision of this service is nontrivial. Capital cycles must be embraced, serious assessments of the various vendors, imaging technique, off line image analysis software and hardware are all needed in order to deliver this service. And lets not forget that radiologists have been imaging the prostate since the mid to late 1980's and it wasn't until a bit later that endorectal coils and then 3T systems with external coils and fast imaging techniques with IV contrast made all of this possible. I might add much of this came about with skepticism in the urology community about the value of advanced imaging for many many years with a lot of push back from the urology community until recently. . I find it interesting that you have not incorporated a single academic uroradiologist in your panel. They are the ones who are responsible for developing these services, defining quality both technical and professional. Nevertheless I enjoyed listening.
