iRacing’s biggest draws for me are the rock solid servers (or at least how latency behaves) and quality matchmaking. Racing from Asia, I’ve never experienced jarring or jittery motions from other racers, and somehow I can still race closely with others. I can’t say the same for other titles where other people’s motions appear to suddenly fast forward. The worst that could happen is the occasional cars bouncing to Narnia and returning to normal a second later, which is more hilarious than an annoyance. For the matchmaking itself, it is true that it is subjective based on what split you’re in, with lower ones (~1k below) tending to be wreckfests. Be patient with it though, and once you progress higher, generally the racing becomes really intense, such that bagging poles or wins (or both!) feels really, really special. And of course there’s the great variety of series to participate in; while not everything draws crowds, there’s bound to be something that you’ll find worthy to invest in. For a game that’s pretty much the granddad of multiplayer sims, it’s aged really well. iRacing demands financial and time investment, but put them in, and you’ll be rewarded with damn good racing.
With the Vees, always make sure to start with just holding the brake at 100% and 40% throttle, and when the lights go just release the brake, no clutch involved it just slows you down
Goodbye iRacing. Was so disapointing getting back to iRacing after 3 years. Yaaa, got some AI you could race agaings. But otherwise hardly NON development of the game mekanics. Yes, a few more types of races, some new cars and more tracks.... But sorry, for 2023 simulation simply dont do it for me. Have fun in there.
