Thanks for the video Hollywood! Would love a video talking about the use of “Smoke”, what units can fire it and how it interacts with Bolt Actions’ rules!
This is a random suggestion that, I assume, is because I watch Forgotten Weapons etc, but I really enjoyed the dive into a unit from a game I've never heard of. Makes me wanna check it out.
Nice Video. Multiple Launchers are definetly one of the best units in the Game! But i need to mention that a multilauncher CAN hit a unit multiple time with overlapping templates. The rule is that you have to max out on Models of a unit but after that you are able to hit others units. If you hit a small Team with a big multilauncher templet you are able to use the template on a lot of other units.
It's a heavy mortar therefore a 3" template, the edge of the template is 1.5 inches from the centre which added to 6 inch would make the bubble 7.5 inches not 10 inches quite a difference
The Soviet m-30 multiple launcher gets a 4 inch template (heavy howitzer) but ever time you fire you take d3 pins and then have a pass a rally test before you can fire again. Personally I don't think it's worth taking as there's to many negatives for it.
Should be getting my Panzerwerfer 42 in 6-12 days, that is my only complaint about the Soviets Katyusha's as all of them so far are on a truck (soft skin) chassie and so is very vulnerable if caught in a line of sight and in range situation with a vehicle or infantry unit with a lot of MG and rifle dice chances. That is unless someone finally comes out with a BM-8-24 then the soft skin would be negated for this. The other downside is the Katyusha takes the tank slot in the platoon structure list. But like you said these units can deliver a whole bunch of pins to a lot of units that are close together on the board 6" or less.
I love taking it in my US lists. It's mostly to keep my opponent spread out and not take cover behind buildings. If my opponent comes after it, it means other parts of my army won't be harassed. You cannot depend on them, though. I use them for the above reasons and if it actually hits anything, then I'm getting extra return on my investment.
I know I'm a year late but at 3:31 you say 10" radius when it is in fact an 8" radius. The 4" template refers to the diameter of the template. It has a 2" radius. That's all for the obligatory pedantry.
Hey there everyone, I am switching from 40K to Bolt action because F GW ! going for the germans I love the nebelwerfers / walking stukas from Company of heroes so my bias is high , would you recommend getting these for my guys?
Yes both are very good. The Panzerwerfer is better than the Stuka Zu Fuß though. They are basically identical but the Panzerwerfer doesn’t have the open topped rule, which is a pretty large drawback that only chips 5 points off a vehicle (bolt actions points scaling for vehicles is comically broken). That being said it’s not a death knell on a multiple Launcher unit as they can simply sit back and out range your enemy.
Multiple Launcher are game breakers, its not players fault that are using weapons that are allowed in they army list. But some selectors made by Warlord are allowing up to 4 multiple launchers in platoon sized game (Seelow Heights and couple others).
Most competitive scenes don’t allow for selectors aside from Reinforced Platoon. Personally my group avoids anything but Reinforced and Armored platoons also because there are a bunch of comically broken platoon selectors out there. Seelow is notorious.
@@HollywoodWargaming In most cases basic historical platoons are fine. Maybe next time can you make video about basic Reinforced Platoon vs army books platoons vs campaigning books platoons?
