My grandfather was a captain in the Alpini. When Mussolini came into power he joined the partisans and would spend the rest of the war fighting behind enemy lines conducting special operations and espionage. He ignited my interest in WWII. Even though he had witnessed far too many atrocities he often spoke of his love for the Alpini and he ran a local Alpini veterans group here in Australia. He passed many years ago but I still miss him everyday. He was my hero.
I miss your Star Wars: Legion reviews. I would love to see your input on the newer units, or updates on your opinion on units you've reviewed already. Just a suggestion, I'll watch either way!
So I completely agree in regards to the resistance. They could MAYBE fit into either Armada or X-wing as we see a lot more of their ships than their ground forces but yeah there just isn't enough there to base a Legion army off of. Now I think AMG could side step that issue by doing the New Republic as a counter part to the First Order but the Resistance is just a dud on this one. Now I do disagree when it comes to the First Order. For Corp they have FO Strom Troopers, FO Jet Troopers, and I could definitely see FO Executioners (the guys with the force/electro pikes). I could see the stun baton and Flame throwers being heavy weapons options but I think the executioners with their big two handed melee weapons are a bit out side the realm of what a heavy weapons option is. For Special forces you have Sith Troopers (and yes they absolutely do deserve to be Special forces and not just Corp. Sith Troopers are actually clones and an extension of the Kaminoan cloning project after Palpatine took all of the Kaminoan cloning research following the ban on cloning technology in the early days of the Empire. Sith Troopers are basically the most advanced clones ever produced rivaling members of the bad batch with even an even greater personality suppression than post Order 66 standard clones. Oh and they have Slower aging rather than the faster aging of the original clones so they are still in peak fighting condition well past the time an original clone created at the same time would have died of old age.), The Praetorian Guard, FO Death Troopers, and Knights of Ren. Yes, The knights of Ren are force sensitive but they are not trained as either Jedi or Sith which is why they don't have lightsabers but they do have some limited force abilities. They originated even before the Empire was defeated when they were part of the Crimson Dawn which also happens to be part of the Shadow Collective under Maul so bonus points that they can fit into that army as well. They could also easily work the same way the Bad batch or Inferno Squad does. For Support you could easily do those Track Speeders, a FO E-web team, possibly even full Flame Trooper support squad that just has 3 Flame Throwers. Heavies could be an FO AT-ST, and I think it'd be real neat if they took the Track Speeder idea and kinda turned it into a tank. Like take 2 of those track speeders strap them side by side and then extend out the back in the center to give it layout similar to an AAT may not be cannon but I think it would fit in just fine. Then for Operatives and Commanders you of course have Huck, Kylo, Snoke, Captian Phasma, a Generic Officer, Palpatine, BB-9E, and Captain Pyre (Resistance Anime). All Together I think there is enough First Order units to fill out a roaster even if it just barely ekes over that line.
I have been toying round with the idea of a German list with a senior officer. Would you mind sharing the list that you mentioned in the video which you had success with?
Bbq s are absurd considering their point cost. At the very least the should have to take a morale check when they are fired upon when they ate outside of their own ...firing range
I personally like using them. Ive been using them more to flank and help provide suppression and harass. Using the clasic L shape ambush, pincer movement or to keep them away from certain areas that i dont want the enemy troops to go.
MY FIRST GAME OF BOLT ACTION I WANT THE AIR OBSERVER BUT FELL OUT WITH IT THE SAME GAME I WAS SHOOT DONW BY A PENTAL DID NOT DAMANGE THEN YOU ALSO CAN BOMBYOURSELF NEVER AGAIN PLUS NO MODEL WHICH KINDA SUCK. HOPE THE FIX IT AND GIVE A MODEL.
Bro does not realize the sheer advantage having all of your units get face up order tokens every round and playing 1 pips from your greedy CIS operative or other commander
2:06 I do want to point out that on page 95 of the rulebook, under “Arc of Fire”, it does specifically say that “if a gun is platform-mounted, based on a rotating platform, or turnable, when ordered to fire it can be pivoted in place for free before firing, giving it effectively a 360° arc of fire”
I really considered getting into Italy as my first army for bolt action as I'm an Italian American myself and I feel they are grossly underrepresented in WW2 but their lack of late war units (which makes sense historically) drove me to pick Germans instead as my friend who is also getting into the game wants to run later war since that's where all the fun toys are.
It's a heavy mortar therefore a 3" template, the edge of the template is 1.5 inches from the centre which added to 6 inch would make the bubble 7.5 inches not 10 inches quite a difference
The 222 has recently had a buff in the most recent FAQ update. It now loses the “open topped” special rule. Which now removes it’s only drawback and makes it an even better pick than the British Humber. I’d now say it’s one of the best choices for a cheap Armored Car to fill out a list.
Yo! Hollywood! I didn't realize you were back. RU-vid wasnt showing me any videos, i had to look you up and to my suprise you had a ton! Keep up the good work! Also wanted to ask, would you be interested in doing faction reviews or "how to build a box set" for some of the minors like China or Poland. Perhaps with a "what if?" Box for the factions that lack them?
Well, Soviet Barrier Troops did not en masse shoot dissidents in front of their comrades (it did happen, but not that commonly), more often than not deserters or "cowards" would be caught and court marshalled. But still, Soviet Barrier Troops were responsible for somewhere between 120.000-140.000 deaths of their own soldiers. Germany had 22.500 executions of deserters in the same time, so about 1/6 of that of Russians, so the rule is pretty accurate and flavourfull, but instead of removing a man to execute them on the spot, they could just get them arrested.
As a German player, I always take an inexperienced MMG team. 35 points for an order die and 5 shots isn't bad. If you place it in hard cover with a good view on where you expect enemies to come from or an objective, it has enough staying power and damage potential to easily make up their points, and the thing is, at 35 points, the enemy will very likely simply ignore it, if possible and if not, he is shooting a 35 point unit, instead of basically anything else that has more value. While it isn't an auto take, it's a great filler unit to squeeze in another cheap order die, and in my experience you usually get more out of it than you paid for
When I started I played very aggressively and having a medic to reduce the damage taken while advancing made the difference more than once . However now that I am more focused on DAK (And not 44-45 grenadiers with STGS) they don't seem do do nearly as much.. What do you think?
