In the last 6 years, 6 of 8 anion test have come back low (4's and 6's). Over the same time period, chloride has been normal, wbc trend low end of normal, rbc trend high end of normal, and both total protein and albumin are middle of normal. I'm in generally good health but overweight, prediabetic, and a history of kidney stones. Should I be concerned?
Question (27M) - I have an anion gap of 2 - Chloride is 109 - normal albumin - Is this worth investigating? Platelets have been steadily dropping since 2019.

So my anion gap was a 4 which according to the chart on my results is low. My albumin was normal range but I can remember what it was. Would albumin be low if mm was causing the anion gap to be low?
But why the increased M-protien ( which is a cation ) is not added to the equation of unmeasured anion (WHICH INCLUDES DECREASED ALBUMIN) - Unmeasured cation ?
Yes. At first, when the liver is busy in inflammatory producing proteins, the ALBUMIN (anion) will decrease and (HCO3-+ CL-) will go up to compensate. That is metabolic alkalosis where AG is low. At second, when the IgG (cation) goes up, 2 things will appear. 1) when IgG goes up NA+ will go down to maintain electropositivity but this leads to hypovolemic. 2) when IgA (anion) goes up (HCO-3 + CL-) will go down to maintain electronegativity. As a result, multiple myeloma are protein which secret (acids) which will lead to HAGMA later on when hypoxia and even high AG metabolic acidosis which will trigger an instant respiratory compensation hence (hyperventilation) respiratory alkalosis . Later, I am afraid if the drop in Na+ will precipitate Ca++ or Mg++ stones with phosphate in kidney. Why? Because ALDOSTERONE will be inhibited due to hypertonicity but ADH will kick due to hypovolemic but severe vicious cycles of hyponatremia

Anion Gap is 2, chloride is 109, and WBC is 4.5 (has been decreasing for 8 months). Your video answered some questions and now wondering if multiple myeloma is a possibility

My anion gap is 0 and high globulins and low white blood. I just finished chemo 4 months ago. I haven’t got my m protein result yet this month but my total proteins jumped and are high . My RBC are in normal limits .
@@janetgonzalez3064 yes I was only in remission for 5 months and I’m going through treatment now and a stem cell transplant in December. My m protein was 3 g/dl this time abd it went to that in a month
