Youre so awesome to do this video. lately, my hesitation has been slowly increasing. Im up to the alphabet twice before I can "get my mind" into being able to help my bladder out. My dr told me about self cath, and I guess I looked frightened or something because she said - look, it's difficult, but it's not the end of the world. Thanks for the assurance Maria. These really are things I can't talk about with my friends, Im not sure they would do anything but feel sorry for me.

Maria, you are One Special Kind of Lady!!! beautiful job! FYI: Catheter tube surgically placed...out-patient procedure = Supra Pubic Cath. this CAN BE REMOVED and no problem....Not necessarily permanent unless you want.. WHAT an excellent Video you've done Maria!!!

I have never had serious bladder problems and I consider myself very lucky! I had many other problems but the bladder is still working quite well. Sometimes, I have to "run" to the bathroom and I can't hold it any more, but I can live with that! (for now...). This is a very good topic and I am glad that you mentioned about this problem because I am sure that many people will find this very interesting. Thanks for sharing! kisses, Angela

Great topic Maria. I know many women who self cath and it has given them their lives back. They say that once you get the hang of it, the process is fast and easy. Also from what I have been told is the cathitures( spelling?) are much smaller than what they use when your in the hospital. I am having tests done right now due to blood in my urine. I pee pee a lot too . You did a great job explaining it and congrats on standing up for yourself! Andrea

I love your video! I wear a "pad" due to constant leaking. I finally had to get a commode next to my bed. I have PPMS and I suppose eventually I will have to use something more permanent. I don't feel it until I start to sweat and my heart begins to pound then it's a quick "run" lol hobble drag to the nearest toilet before I passout and pee on the floor. Ugh but kudos to you and Thanx for your candid insight!! Susan

*hand up* me too :o( Had the joy of having a catheter a few weeks ago during a relapse. I only had a permanent one for a week and that was AWFUL. I did learn the art of self cath (what freedom!) So glad you didn't get that surgery. My experience was that it was fairly easy to do first off (my nurse was excellent! - apart from her mobile phone going off at that 'moment' and the theme song of Thunderbirds played - complete with Timpany drum roll!). Hilarious. Kerri xo

Accidents are common for me. The adult diaper is the only thing that I have. Just use the diaper. Just make sure that it is a well known brand. Thanks for the video.
