For PPMS ,we need something that stops the innate immune system from attacking our CNS and something that repairs the damage. Research should include spinal cord bridging tech, like artificial nerve fibers and blue tooth signal nodes that can transmit nerve signals, bypassing the damaged areas. NVG-291 and ATA188 give us the most hope and I'm looking forward to them finishing trials and hitting the market.

If you have lesions on your thoracic spine, but no evidence of demyelination in the brain, can you still have MS? Is brain atrophy still possible without T2 bright spots?

Ha yeah, i thought about that 😅 ppms being really spms. I have a friend with ppms, i have rrms. She has been on mirena all of her adult life - so its interesting to think about "pregnancy" hormones offering protection. I wouldn't say my pregnancy offered me protection and it led to my diagnosis a year later. But imo my ms started in early childhood when i got a concussion, so - im thinking bbb got disturbed and from there on....
