This video presents experimental roller/crimpers for larger scale agricultural operations. The patented (patent #7,987,917) multiple-stage design utilizes compression springs on the crimping rollers to maintain effective crimping force that is transferred to the cover crop for effective termination. The first roller/crimper is 12 foot wide, 3-point hitch mounted and the second roller/crimper is a 30 foot wide, bi-fold, pull-type. Cereal rye is the cover crop seen in the video which provides a heavy residue cover on the soil surface.
