This is a huge problem for me. I've been diagnosed with dysphagia. I get little things stuck and I cough until I wretch and nearly faint. I also choke on my saliva, sometimes in the middle of the night. When taking my pills I go one at a time, and even then I may get one caught and have to drink and drink to get it down.
