These kinds of characters are better when 1. Theres already plenty of fan favorites already. 2. The moveset is really creative and fun Banana guard is neither, no matter how much i wanted to like him.
Actually pretty clever rooster, they gave us a highly requested character, a joke character (which im pretty sure it was added to tell anything could be in the rooster), a character from other franchise IP, and an unexpected one, so I guess they're saving the most requested Characters for each season to hype it out
Not that anything can be added but rather because they are giving him for free on an event, as a way of saying "Oh look, we give out free stuff, we a cool game" so the spot had to be for a Char nobody cared about enough to throw their life savings away just to get it and all of its Cosmetics (which I doubt he'll get many), so they can cash in on the popular ones, I bet no one will even play him (unironically at least) for long, I doubt we'll be getting many more joke chars (if at all), maybe once every April fools, and even so that'd be a lot
@@marxstarlight8169 the irony of him actually being a strong character and liked enough is real (either way it's not like unlocking charactere requires real money. just a bit of work sure but don't pretend like them giving us this one is an excuse for us to waste money on the other ones as that's just not a great point) also , overall whole point feels kinda stupid beeshooter said it right - anything could be added the devs said it before and what's a better way of proving that this is the case than by adding a character like this?

i feel like they needed another character so they made banana guard because his move set is really simple even the power up is basically shaggys power up just with different stats and because of simple he is it was easy to make
Hey, these games are supposed to have those characters no one asked, just like Smash Bros. has Ice Climbers, Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B., Wii Fit Trainer and Piranha Plant.
Thomas from Regular Show would have been the PERFECT joke character. He would represent a new franchise, and is already the joke character in his own show. Plus, he could have a spy-like moveset
@@sebatheepik Ice Climbers only had one game from 1985 plus a few ports, few people would know them without Smash. Mr. Game & Watch comes from a series of old handhelds made with calculator technology. And R.O.B. is just an old NES peripheral that only worked with two games, and already sucked back then.
Banana Guard isn’t even a good joke character. He’s boring to play as. He doesn’t even have the funny voice he has from Adventure Time. Sounds way more hyped than he actually does in the show.
It feels like they're desperate trying to do what Sakurai did with Piranha Plant just to reel in more players with an "OMG WACKY RANDOM CHARACTER" without realizing that Smash already had a huge roster full of fan-favorites. Also, Piranha Plant is actually an iconic videogame enemy whereas who the fuck even knows what a Banana Guard is outside of Adventure Time fans?
Eh he ain't even a hype character. So many other cooler reps they could've used for the games return nah. A FOOKIN Banana joke character they could've saved the joke characters for like the 2nd year of the game but nah.
I think it would be difficult adding a Character thats been banned by Japan as a whole. Thats why you never see a multiplayer game that crosses over with Mortal Kombat since that game is playable in Japan that banned MK by Law.
