@@Minecrafter123341 that's not the problem. It takes away your defensive options when you dodge, while the stripe is safe and sound with no risk. That means, he can hit you with one aerial, burn all your dodges with the gun, and then edge guard you
Honestly playing today and now watching this, it feels Stripe neutrals are just too quick and have too much priority. Not only his combo game is crazy, Twillight not even being able to dodge most of the time, but he also has priority over so many things ! Any of Stripe's air neutrals seem to have priority over an absurd amount of move, even with fast characters like Harley. Imagine the same situation with Reindog or Iron Giant ? They stand no chance AT ALL. Stripe is basically Arya's combos buffed + Jake unpunishability. I think he needs a nerf.
@@Bighoodiekid Agreed- Stripe is a problem especially in 1vs1 because well, in 2vs2 you always have a mate so you can 2vs1 focus the Stripe if he's good. But in 1vs1 when mastered the character feels really really hard to punish and therefore beat
The biggest mistake multiversus could've made was giving that green fuck's forward air that much priority. On top of that a move with auto-locking aimbot that lets you kill offstage for free. I'm hitting zero to deaths with this character the first game playing him , that priority is insane , most unfun character to verse.
I think the same thing , he is so broken , I played games where I win almost 80% of the time and now I’m losing to every stripe since he came out. The best counter I would say would be Finn
Stripe probably needs a nerf to his gun but that's about it. Maybe add some recovery frames on hit and have the hitstun scale with damage. Give the defender a window where they can dodge out and defend themself at early percents and force the Stripe player to make a read instead of having a guaranteed kill confirm setup at like 60
Imo it's all the saw and side air that makes Stripe extremely good the saw is such an amazing projectile for controlling space and his side air Hitbox is kinda deceptively bigger then it looks
Should Stripe be nerfed, if so reply how? My nerf ideas: When I say reticle, I'm referring to the target placed on an enemy when Stripe hit's them. What makes Stripe so ridiculous is how much he gains off of a single win in neutral, here are two separate nerf ideas that fix that: Nerf Idea 1: Nerf gun strings. One bullet per reticle. The dodge window for Stripe's bullet is already extremely tight, but even if you do dodge it he can just shoot you again burning resources, so what if when Stripe shoots at you once the recital disappears, that way if the opponent hit's the tight dodge window they won't have to worry about follow ups unless the stripe actually put themselves at some sort of risk and approached you themselves. Nerf Idea 2: Make gun strings harder to access. The reticle is put on a stack system. (My preferred nerf) The power of Stripe's gun strings are just flat out insane when compared to how easy they are to access. All Stripe needs to do is hit the opponent once which starts a string that could potentially lead to death, so what these strings were harder to access. Stripe applies a stack every time he hits you and The stack maxes out around 3-5 hits. once the stack is fully maxed out the opponent has a timer applied to them that last about 10-30 seconds, during this time if Stripe hits that opponent the reticle is applied to them allowing strings to work exactly as they did before. This way Stripe still has his insane strings that can lead the opponent to an early death and make him so much fun to play, but he'll have to win neutral more to access these strings(something he already has the tools to handle). This also encourages more skillful play from online players over sair spamming into string.
@@AJAXHQ Of course, without demeaning the player, Stripe is very difficult to punish, in addition to being highly aggressive. With these characteristics it dictates the dynamics of any 1v1 match and this is not good for a game that seeks to be competitive. Like, come on the character was released yesterday and look at his performance in various match ups and competitions, this is not a good sign.
@@slowrest6041 that should lowkey be the first nerf then. Make it a projectile so we can use the already existing tools to try and nullify it. I can't believe it's not considered a projectile... So is there no travel time for the bullet? Does it just hit scan?
@@hueycotton no travel time I think. Im okay with it not being a projectile because stripe lacks reliable ways to spike oponents without gun, but the cooldown should be way longer in all his abilities.
Zoo is incredibly talented at spacing his moves, it's really impressive. That said, Stripe's side air is disgusting. The gun seems like an interesting mechanic, but it should be on a character who's difficult to hit with, someone stubby like Steven.
An insane player with a good charecter is terrifying thing to go up against I feel like with stripe because of the lock-on with hit one mistake and zoo can annihilate
I mean... he's obviously a good player. But Stripe is clearly OP as fuck lol That gun is getting nerfed asap. Plus I'm pretty sure he said himself that Stripe is just better Batman so...
@@hueycotton attack decay gun should just be an interrupt with no real knockback, i've gotten so many kills as stripe with decayed gun shots that it's ridiculous
It's kinda sad when people abandon their mains when the character stop being good and some more op character comes to play, whatever to get the wins i guess.
Nah the gun just needs to have way more recovery time, if they remove the knock back it would be almost useless. The only way for the gun still be good and fair without knock back would be removing the disadvantage effect and removing the recovery time
Bro how on earth did this Harley get this far, Bro barely uses the bear or the Jack in the box, arguably her best moves. Bros just trying his absolute hardest to capitalize off the infinite and up b. If Tymier played this stripe it wouldn't be a fair match frfr.
The competition at this tourney on that day wasn't as high as usual, with pin and sage not being there, and Chavo and retro both played stripe but clearly didn't have the time to practice as much as zoo did, but yea that Harley was living on the combo game and not doing much else, his movement wasn't great, pretty sure I could beat him with Harley and i rarely play one's
I feel like the fact that zoo was able to win this tournament with a character that has only been out for 2 days is testament enough to how broken he is
@@jozi9440 well zoo is a very good player, also while your right he did just come out people still have to learn the matchup. One thing I can already tell from stripe is that he has to work for kills.
@@jozi9440 no just like me he understands neutral and mind games, learning a character in a platformer game only takes an hour probably, it's not that difficult bro.
People calling for nerfs need to understand that Stripe can be in OP in 1v1, but this game is balanced around 2v2s where Stripe is, from what I’ve seen on streams and vids, upper tier but not broken tier. Same thing when people were crying for crazy nerfs to Batman because he is OP in 1v1.
I really like stripe but the need to nerf saw blade his whole kit is way too centered around it and spammy. Id like to see his tnt buffed though seems like a really cool move but it just hurts you with not enough pay off
Reindog would be a good counter to stripe. Stripe is basically the successful version of taz. Chaotic and oppressive at short distances and enough projectile game to not get destroyed by long range fighters.
I'm sure Zoo is a great player but c'mon. Stripe is waaaay to op. That gun takes no skill whatsoever and there's literally nothing you can do about it. You just spam his attacks.
