This is Nickelodeon All Stars but with a budget behind it. This being free to play is huge.

Likely lacking in textures on purpose to ensure low resources are spent on the console so the netcode can feel as good as possible. Graphically intensive games can have laggy inputs due to the massive workload in processing all that visual data. Therefore, more simplistic art styles with very little textures make for the best experience for the end user.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who goes back and looks at these old videos when hype was over 9,000. Can't wait for its return.

The voice alone made it 100% better. It's so jarring when character don't speak at all on fighting game.

Also...Nick Brawl is just... UNFINISHED. Glitches everywhere(Jab lock infinites), bad balance(cowabunga orange dude), missing content(items/VAs planned but not in Day 1), and frequent/polarizing balance changes that imply the game is early access. Love that game gameplay wise, but I'm so happy producers are greenlighting more Smash inspired games. Was feeling forced to support a blatantly rushed product... but this game will suck if characters are behind a gambling/ガチャポン/chance based paywall. EDIT: Clarified paywall. No problem dumping $60 on getting the full roster month 1, but NO WAY am I dumping $60 for a chance at getting a bunch of duplicates.

I'd assume it's not going to the Switch. Primarily because of the netcode. Rollback is taxing, and NASB only has rollback on Switch for 1v1 matches. With such an emphasis on 2v2 games, I doubt the switch could handle 4 player rollback. And forcing other platforms to play with an inferior netcode to accommodate the Switch would be a bad move, imo.

The early roster that is presumably available from jump is something like the 8 to 10 characters that have been shown up to this point. That’s what outlets are saying, anyway.

Not suspicious to me at all, since the video’s bullet points clearly address the biggest and longest running complaints of both Smash Ultimate(a completely dogshit online experience that essentially socially isolates anyone not using external tools and net code that causes the game to have essentially two gameplay metas) and Nick All Star Brawl (character personality with animation and *voice acting*). From the available interface shown and from the narration, the social capabilities were highlighted to show exactly that: the *capability* (not requirement) to have a robust social experience. Smash already has gameplay-affected paid DLC, so I can’t strike that against Multi-Versus if they sell additional characters. Since the video explicitly mentions cosmetics, I expect that to be the main money-maker and don’t really care unless “loot-boxes” are the conduit for that market (and that’s just my own principles coming into play).

Really wish this game was just $40-70 dollars at launch with a $20-40 dollar total season/character passes and as many costume/music/sound effect/stage alts/single player mode(Ex. Aftermath) DLC as the devs want. Game will suck if I gotta play like... 2 characters and gamble to get all of my mains. I'll give you my money if you tell me what I'm buying, ya' know.

EXTREMELY TRUE. Would love a Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing/Tennis with another IP. A Formula 1/Blur/Nascar crossover would be epic. Also, an FPS crossover between Xbox characters would be perfect. Even a Fortnite/Battle Royale inspired game with Nintendo characters playing laser tag would be hilarious. The obsession with violence and s*x in the entertainment industry as a whole is a bit tiring. Though, I can't lie there is a target audience for these types of things and I'm apart of it.

I have never seen somebody be excited that something was free-to-play. It usually means the goal is to bleed money out of people as much as possible. Still, this could be good if handled right.
