yup. it really does feel like that the more videos I watch. Feels like you should always give the lower end and see what options they pull out, then mayyyyyybe if you don't like it raise the budget ever so slightly, but never go beyond 7k. There are only a handful of gowns I've seen on this show over 7k that were actually worth the price...

The string was very much there…she didn’t give it before the bride tried on dresses but after she made it clear what she preferred. And a gift should not have any strings at all.

If so, then she should not have accepted her mom’s offer and just paid herself.

I love the dresses from the Australia show much better. They are less expensive more romantic and less tacky and revealing.

The first gown was right - the mother was strange.

The first one was beautiful and classy.

To me it came of as kinda manipulative, so mom would get what she wanted and not the bride.

Her moms behavior and body language screamed manipulation and doing nice favors with strings attached

That is so unfair. We have no idea whether this is the case or not. Give the mother the benefit of the doubt. She is only a nurse's aide, doesn't make a lot of money. A blank check was a huge deal.

Me too. I was lucky enough to be in another country so we could do whatever we liked without any family pressure. I had a beautiful dress made, we went to a nice restaurant for a meal and had a big, self-catered party in the evening. Best wedding I ever went to!

@@mariesmith1616While Diane does have the tendency to pull over budget dresses, she is always nice and friendly no matter what the budget. Diane has been great with low budget brides.

Did she though? I think she was trying to please her mother and her mother gave her a blank check so she could control what she wore. The mother acted like she didn't even want to be there, hardly any emotion from her. Weird episode. The bride like the first one.
