When I caught that the evil nin- I mean mummies followed with delays approximately of the form 3nk + n seconds (n ~= 17/12; k is an integer, k >= 0), I realized that meant you could stack them cyclically. Then it was a question of how to extend that movement, which a few other people gave ideas for with their clear videos. After that, it was execution and getting a little lucky at the end that put the run together :)
@@ekisacik all good! also yours and some other people's runs are actually way more impressive than you guys may think considering I already had a lot of attempts on mummy issues before it got uploaded to the servers lol, it felt more right for this run to have been the WR instead...
This is BS 5 different videos of completion by 5 different people, tried hundreds of possible paths- NOTHING WORKS!! Your path either gets boned by the cubes that follow, or the invisible parts about 1 minute in make it impossible. I refuse to believe anyone can complete this level legitimately
@@Zerathina I've beaten the level about 15 times in the process of grinding for this time. While luck can make the run significantly easier, I didn't feel like a majority of my runs were ended to it. The most important part about utilizing routes like these is timing. You have to adjust the cycle length to be the same amount of time, and part of that is understanding that there is about a 2:3 ratio between the time that the first mummy follows behind you and the optimal cycle length. In practice, this comes down to feeling, but it's not too difficult to try to loop on one side for a long time to see if you can get all the mummies to stay close together. As for the reduced visibility part, I didn't like it much either, but it does help to quickly rule out regions of the board where the gem might be and go from there; you get a feel for that over time, too.
