I just woke up and started watching the new Hunter the Parenting that dropped, and they keep referring to Markus as a mummy in it as a joke to his bandages. And I find it funny that I see this when I got in the middle of it
The Undying Amenti of the Kingdom of Sand. The ones who oppose the Followers of Set alongside the Star Striders and Children of Osiris. There were other Undying outside of Egypt. We had the Asian Wu T'ian, and the South American Capacocha. Then there are their opposition. The Apepnu. The Bane Mummies. And their Asekh-sen, the lesser bane Mummies. With Mummy: The Resurrection, we next have, Mummy: The Curse. There, we have the various Guilds who serve the Judges of Duat. Then we have the Deceived, and the Lifeless. And their Main antagonist. I will keep saying it: The World of Darkness, both Classic and Chronicles, is a madhouse. The Homebrews only make it crazier. And I find myself loving it all the same.
Not only am I always glad to see your videos because I love your deep dives in the World of Darkness, almost nobody Does Mummy: the Resurrection lore. Very grateful. ... now, if I'm super lucky, you'll do Mummy: the Curse as well..
The frenzy of the werewolves and vampires pales in comparison to a sefekhi falling into sekmektet. Sefekhi in this state are the closest thing wod has to godzilla coming on shore in Tokyo... Fear the khaibit when it gets off its chain...
Mummy is one of those splats that I find most interesting. And though I have never played it, if find it's connection to wraith very interesting. My going theory is that Mummies are just fancy Risen with a mage twist. Much like the Keui Jin are fancy Risen with a vampire twist. Honestly, if I could help it get more attention by just having an underworld splat that includes wraiths, risen, and mummies, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Everything that isn't VtM would be a lot more popular if it were all balanced to work together: One ruleset that GMs run with players choosing a character book based on who they want to play (mage, changeling, child of luna, vampire, etc.) so all these types of characters really can exist together. Why would literally anyone play Mummy when you can play Mage and have essentially the same things? Heck, why does anyone play Mage when they could just learn real occultism?
