You're right about what wheels can do. Assuming you can find them of course.. and then hopefully the seller isn't asking for a house deposit for them.. lol. I've also had trouble finding hubcaps my VR Exec. The VR was my late grandmothers, she had it brand new. My earliest memories are being chauffeured by her to kinder and the occasional maccas Happy Meal on the way home. We didn't have much, but i still felt spoiled. She gifted the car when I turned 18, it was a shock and despite my best efforts to change her mind, I wasn't allowed to leave without it. Trying to keep the car on the road has become a challenge with a lot of aftermarket parts also being discontinued. There's some talented people and great businesses that can make things possible, I hope one day I'm in a position to afford going that route.
I was an apprentice at Claridge Holden 1990's when i first started noticing the ASV cars coming out Loved them. Great story. love this and they are a awesome looking car. love the momo status wheels!
Awesome mate. I have a 94 Vr exec factory 5ltr BT1 and a 96 Vs exec factory 5ltr both clubsport replicas with as many genuine parts as I could find. Great story and great car! Can’t wait to see it come back to 100%
I really enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing some backstory and unique experiences also, that was great. I hope to see more videos of this car in the future 👍
Great to see it back in your hands Jason. Good seeing the old ASV "Livery" . Lots of memories there. Looks great now. I'd be happy as a pig in poop having that in my shed
That's awesome, i used to work for Eagers Holden just after my apprenticeship, and the paper spec sheet brought back memories, we always had to fix the rattles, this is so cool, great spec car as well, Walkinshaw, my first road test, aha wasn't allowed to drive it, also cool car, - look forward to seeing more on this, - side note I'd buy back my oldies Sigma tommorow if i could find came back home for a visit few years ago, see it drive straight past me...was lost for words.
Beautiful mate, I just inherited a VZ from my pop, I lost my dad who owned the same car and same colour so it’s very special to me. Will subscribe to see your updates. Cheers mate and congrats on this gem 💎
A dry ice blast on the underside would bring it back to a good baseline so a fresh coat of raptor or underbody deadener could be applied. Look forward to seeing the progress given a mechanical/cosmetic refresh.
Beautiful looking car with the new wheels. Me personality I would put the way your mum had it. Just clean and fix up to point were you can just look at it and drive it around and enjoy it.
