My buddy passed away frkm an OD in the summer and left me his guitars, basses and recording equipment in his will. He was in a lot of bands in the 90 and early 00s. An amazing musician. Ive always played guitar and didn't think id enjoy bass. I found julia and i can't think of any reason way I ever stop playing bass now. I have about 30 songs that I cycle through to practice. 10 of them are Julia's covers. However this song i play 5 to 10 times in a row, everyday. I will get it down. Literally the coolest bass riff to learn to play. I think maybe Colins soul is in the bass cause incam feel him everytime i nail a part. Thank you for this. You may not know the importance or impact you have as a musician but to me youve made it feel as if Colin is still here loving the music with me.
That synth-bass sound is freakin' awesome. As always, the precision, speed and expression are so on point I just can't even. And the funky bass-face, infectious vibes. Thanks Julia! 🙂
Isn’t that something? Her facial expressions is priceless. So glad she feel comfortable enough to let herself go like that, or she maybe just have to. Can’t help it.
It's brilliant how you use so many different techniques: fingerstyle, slapping, tapping, double stops, but never for their own sake, but always musical and always grooving! I absolutely love it! ❤
Not Julia liking almost every comment 🥹🤍🤍 You’re one of the best bassists out there. Way too incredible, you! Love you queen! All the way from Ghana 🫶🏽🫶🏽✨💛
This is one of my favorite examples of her slap technique. Such cool rhythms and choices, and delivery was powerful and right in the pocket. Love how the low B sounds on that bass as well. Dayum!
It's incredible that I kinda be able to appreciate music that I normally don't tolerate to listen to when only it's Julia who gives us her interpretation of it. I admire your open-minded approach at least as much as your genius playing.
I've been playing bass 30 years and I'm starting to wonder if it's possible for us to slap without making funk face. It's how you can immediately spot a guitarist filling in on bass, no face. Brilliant play through!
@@WesFanMan I'm guessing you aren't a bass player. We are proud to make that face when we slap the bass. It's part of bass culture. She's a phenomenal bass player, one of my favorites to watch. Zero insult. I've played over 30 years and she's much better than me with fewer years playing
For all the years I've been a fan of non-pop genres, I can listen to it now by imagining how Julia would turn the song into a stanky groove-fest. Honestly, I could just listen to her jam for days.
when i first started to learn how to play bass a little over 2 years ago i came across your "Don't Stop Now" cover and i followed you since then. You consistently blow my mind with your skills! I take huge inspiration from your originality and how you cover these songs because it's amazing watching you play
Listening to the original now feels like there is no low end. The more I listen to this, the more I like the creative connections between the different parts.
Another killer cover! 98 videos, 673,000 subscribers and 70 million+ views since your first RU-vid video. I've been following your career since discovering your cover of "Forget Me Nots" 6 years ago and can't wait to see what the future holds for the Little Rhythm Machine. Thanks Julka- happy birthday!
Such a big fan of hers.. so technically talented and tasteful with the arrangements. I love how at her young age, she already GETS what groove is, something seasoned players takes years and decades to manifest in their playing. Keep it up Julia!!
I sincerely hope and am optimistic that she's clever enough to do that by herself. At least, that's what I get from the way how she's presenting her artistry here!
I’m a little woried all the attention would go to her head. But what I hear, she’s a very grounded and private person, and humble. Just shower her with love🥰🥰
The intro has a keyboard bass feel. That's not easy to pull off because the timing is very precise. I wasn't familiar with this song, so I looked it up and started listening to it. I came right back to this version!
Man, I feel like we've watched her grow up over the years. From that little kid who barely moved while playing (well) to Full Grooving Julia. Always fantastic talent and enjoyable to watch and listen to.
Julia!! Words do not do your cover of this justice!!! Those are some kick ass licks girl!!! Super, you never let us Bassists down!!! amazing as always!!
Your musical abilities, far more than what you need just to play the instrument, are extremely impressive. Kudos to you for putting in all the hours and hard work. I wish you much success for the future. Why modern artists and labels are not knocking your down to get you on tracks and on tour with them is absurd. It's coming though!
Hi Julia! Thank you again for your fantastic amazing stuff! 👍 ❤️ ✌️ ❤ It's always a great pleasure to hear and see you playing with energy ⚡ and enthusiasm, to play the bass and fill it with heart, love and emotions! Didn't see any other who can do it with so much intense and feeling in every direction! Thank you holy queen 👑 of bass! 👍 👍 👍 👈👈👈👈✌️✌️🙋🏼♂️🌹🌹🌹🌹
There's always a moment in you're videos where I go "F.....hell!!", then I look at your facial expression when you're clearly not here but in the zone, I get goose bumps and I get emotional by the energy you give off. You're pure talent, Julia!!!
Oh gorgeous and talented Julia it is always a pleasure to see and hear you groovin' like the Queen of bass you are! Respect and admiration for you always 🙏
Thanks Julia so much talent, I'm 56 years old and you make me dreaming to play in other life as you... I like so much your groove🤍 A big hug from Italy
Every time Julia drops a video with the 5-string I put the rest of my life on pause, because I know something banging is about to happen! Woohooo! This one!
Best young bass player I've ever seen, professional or not. I'm running out of superlatives. You could just listen to this version without watching the visuals and think that it would be some full time session geezer. For Julia to be able the way she does..... bloody brilliant. Like I say, best young player I've ever seen.
Never heard of Muna before either, but having heard the JPG version, I know I will only be disappointed in the original mix. Right? She's exposed me to a lot of musicians I'm the last 4 years.
Egal was Du tust. Hör niemals auf damit! Please never stop using your talent. It makes me feel happy when I have a hard time or something like that. Like as would somebody (you) say: "Come on! Let's show the world how to live and enjoy doing special things like playin' powermusic!" I can say I participate from your skill... So thank you very much! ❤️
You're always my favorite! More than skills and talent, its a God given gift! Youre just awesome! Love you so much! ❤ 💘😍😘🥰😊😇 It would be nice to see you play live!
Always such a disappointment to listen to the original track after hearing Julia’s cover (sigh). When will I ever learn. Waiting for a major artist to wise up and bring Julia on board.
