I was listening with my feet hanging over my bed but as soon as Griffin said “chhhICKEN Guy! I felt a deep sense of danger and pulled them up onto my bed again
Went to the Chicken Guy! In Orlando, it was fantastic. Some of the best tenders I've ever had. Also the people working there are sweethearts. I'd love to go back one day.
Yet another example of their disclaimer in action- The brothers are *only* good for comedy. They're super good at comedy, don't get me wrong- I love 'em. But whenever they speak authoritatively on anything like this, 9 outta 10 times they're *dead wrong*
I know this is two years late, but actually this is most likely incorrect. The term “buttermilk brined” is often used, but is a misnomer. Buttermilk functions as a marinade, regardless of how much salt you add to it-you wouldn’t say “water brined” chicken, as it is the salt in the water that is doing the brining. If you add a bunch of salt to buttermilk you are brining the chicken/etc with the salt portion of the solution, and marinating with the buttermilk portion of the solution. The slight acidity of the buttermilk will tenderize the meat, and the salt in the solution will do whatever brines purport to do-which itself is under debate.
I've listened to this one a fair few times and I just now realised that I actually ate at that restaurant when these tenders where a thing and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to have experienced what I would later learn is a munch squad item rather than merely witnessing the advertisements.
It just hit me, but when Griffin talks about red stuff at 5:40 ... does he mean paprika? That's not supposed to hurt your mouth bud, you might be allergic.
Well, part of the joke with Munch Squad is that Griffin and Travis fucking hate it. Sorta like how Justin and Griffin play up how much they hate Riddle Me Piss for the bit.
