15:52 CH Precision did good. Too many people think they know how a speaker or a system sounds like thru YT. The way some people describe how systems sound thru YT beat comments from the actual owners themselves. Thats how far off track people are nowdays. If you have heard it in real life, by all means describe your heart out. But if you only heard it thru a YT vid, its better to keep those meaningless opinions to yourself rather than to sound like a clueless know-it-all. As they say, foolish people speak because they have to say something, wise people speak because they have something to say. Good job CH Precision.
It’s about time to say that those prices have nothing to do with the performances or the sound. Most of those hi-end small companies are trying to position themselves in the luxury market, but they don’t have any marketing cost to justify that, let alone the R&D.
Many thanks for your feedback Jay. I'm just surprised that you said nothing about the Dartzeel's room (in good or bad) as you had, for once, the opportunity to listen to them in a show.
Jay, I am SO happy we got to spend some time together in the VAC/Von Schweikert Audio room during Munich, and that you were willing to let me play some things for you... I'm so happy that you were finally able to get a sense of what they REALLY do. Now, we just need to get you up here to hear my Ultra 9s in a permanent installation, not at a show! 😏

Jay, I’m glad you were receptive to listening to VSA speakers, and then liking it. The Ultra 7 is very expensive. Perhaps a smaller speaker like the VR-55 might be more fitting. Thanks for doing all the hard work in taking all that video coverage. Keep up the nice work!

Hey Oz, so - the Acoustic Signature table was the Typoon Neo ($17,995), with a 9" Acoustic Signature TA-7000 Neo ($15,995), fitted with the AMAZING (my review is almost finished) Hana Umami Red cart ($3,995). The Phono Stage was the finest I've yet heard, the VAC Statement Phono ($80,000). The Line stage was also the VAC Statement ($80,000), and they were bi-amping the ULTRA 7s with two pairs of the VAC Master 300iQ monoblock amps ($30,000 each or $120,000 total). All cabling was Master-Built ULTRA series...

For people not in the trade (or the media like Jay) visitors to the Munich show is limited to two days only, on a Saturday and Sunday. The show starts on a Thursday and Friday for the trade and media. So if going to Munich, I would plan on visiting some tourist sites in Germany in addition to visiting the show.

Great job! The best looking speakers I have ever seen are mine: 2001’ Mission Pilastro, and they sound amazing for 40000 dollars they cost at the time.
Jay - It appears you liked the ceramic based speakers the most (Marten, Tidal, Von Schweikert) So I think a video from you explaining the advantages of such speakers using those drivers would be VERY interesting in my opinion, especially given the fact you've had a lot of speakers such as Wilsons that are known as very real and natural sounding whereas there are a lot of folks claiming that ceramic drivers are un-natural sounding speakers, if you could shade some light on that topic I think it would be on of the most watched videos out there.
Great summation of your opinion on the best sounding speakers at the Munich show Jay. You take on what should be considered a special, or rather one that will be considered a Classic, was really great. Love your channel and continued success.
I think you had great coverage of the show ( especially speakers ) on the go, and for someone like me who was unable to attend the show it meant a world as you have brought the show to my home. I personally am a huge fan of Wilson Audio, I own Audiovectors so do wish you had more time to listen to them but I also did fall in love with Clarisys Audio speakers. Speakers that are over 50-60K are out of my price range but surely is nice to see ( listen ) to some of them. Perhaps new Living Voice speakers that are now obtainable are some of possibilities for me :) Thanks again for your hard work
Big-time Jay!!! Thanks a million for your efforts in Munich. You're a very impressive Audiophile and a very impressive individual. Keep it up. Jay, have you heard the new Klipsch Jubilee speakers? I already own what I consider to be my end-game speakers. However, if I had a larger room, out of all the wonderful speakers I've heard over the years, including most of the speakers you mentioned in this video, I would own the absolutely phenomenal Klipsch Jubilee speakers with tube amplification, and just lay back, relax, and enjoy for the rest of my life.
Appreciated the chapters, and the organization of the overview. Your transparency about your own speaker choices was also refreshing. I liked the shots of 1/2 million dollar systems, rather than just hearing rumors of them. As far as recordings I know one vendor’s got out. I can’t quite get the company ‘showing’ their speaker, restraining its amplification over the internet on RU-vid.
Hi Jay, I also saw you at the show but you were always busy and I did lot want to bother you. Anyway, let me tell you: it makes me proud that American Audiophiliacs like you take the long way from U.S. to Germany to join the HighEnd. I know some of the German RU-vidrs also having a Hifi channel that are too lazy to get their bottom up and travel a short distance to this event. I also thought that this year after Corona the show was fantastic and the reason for this may also be that many interesting manufacturers from USA and Asia again were there and enhanced the audiophiliac experience for all of us. Some say this is due to the average price level only for rich people. Buf for me it is like visiting a car motor show where I enjoy all that great stuff also without being able to afford it.

I have one question for you.. When you were in the Göbel factory and listened to their system with CH Precision amplifiers, what did you like or dislike about the sound?
Thank you for a great description of what your experience was with many fine speakers at the show. Particularly happy that you were able to hear the special Von Schweikerts shine. That musical experience in my opinion is integral to their whole line, even the less expensive such as the VR55's
Jay, from my understanding one reviewer from Part-time Audiophile listened to the Tidal Bugatti. Other than that I believe it was for Tidal dealers and distributors only.
Hello Jay, Like I comment on your You Go to munich Video Zellaton should be on your list. And I am Happy that you found Zellaton and Tidal (which I used in the past) as one of your favorite speakers of Highend 2023. What a pity Zellaton showed "only" their cheaper second speaker lineup Plural Evo. If you would have heard their topline with Podzsus Chassis you would change it against your Wilson for sure. Please visit ny audioarts in the future to listen to them. ;) The best speakers in the world! No other speakers have this homogenity and high mid-resolution. For me the martens and Zellaton where top! But admittedly I know them quite well. To bad they didn’t bring the top of the line. Zellaton had a pressure in the sound that is just unbeatable imho. I agree with the former comment that yg deserved an mention. Thanks for all the hard work
I agree on most of the WA speakers set up. Especially the xvx + d agostino set was a great dissapointment. The only one i really liked was de nagra + CH precision rooms . I also liked the MBL setup although ok the long term not sure if it would create fatigue… munich will see me back again next year 🎉
I am surprised you didn't mention Steinway Lyngdorf systems. I thought they blew everything else out of the water completely. Just my opinion, but I own a Steinway piano so I may be a bit biased.
Jay - I am going to hear the VON SCHWEIKERT AUDIO reference speakers at the big audio show in Costa Mesa next week ,,,,, as your "speaker of the show " I am going to give them an extremely critical listen and am interested if they will be my speaker of the show too
Regarding the electrostatic/ribbon speaker at $280.000 US can certainly be invested in other financial vehicles that will actually increase in value.... I agree, the best room that had Wilson Audio was the CH and the Chronosonic did not sound good at all. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the DartZeel room. I think it was one of the best in the show.

New at 16k, lots of competition out there for that price like dynaudio, Wilson yvette used, sopra 3 etc. wondering if you’ve heard the salon 2 as it seems to be a ton of bang for the buck! I'd take those Alsyvox Raffaellos over anything Wilson makes, and that's the bottom line. It's all about what you want from your system; the Wilsons can't do what panels can in my book.
Sorry? How do you place Khama #2 when you did not hear it play anything dynamic? This makes no sense at all and makes me question all your choices. I heard them also at MHE and the three times I entered this room the speakers were playing quiet romantic music. I could never form an opinion based on eps hat I heard.

What do you mean, the room is not supposed to sound great (Wilson)😂. So it sounded like crap to invite people in to take pictures 🤭😝?!? Why turn it on at all, if you know it sounds horrendous? Wilson should have done everything to prevent you (and everyone else) from feeling let down. Roy Gregory is the man who tells it like it is 😏. He isn’t afraid like… some others 😉
Jay I'm a little taken back by the comment that you are thinking of selling your XVX's? WHY? Those are probably the best speakers you have ever had in your room. With the set up you have, your system sounds the best it EVER has.I understand the concept of your channel, but I can't think of another speaker that would top your XVX's at that price point and that technology. Next you will be getting rid of your 3050's. It comes a point where you're being selfish to yourself. Again, I understand the reason behind your channel, but there will come a time where you will be missing out on a system that is just for YOU and YOUR own personal enjoyment.
You should try using a lav or shotgun mic for your voice. The room sounds kind of wonky and your voice could be much more intelligible. It sounds like your in a box.
You're not making life decisions nor are you hearing music. It's just a voice. No need to have separation, soundstage, depth when you are hearing someone talk.
@@jaysaudiolab just makes it way easier to digest your content, its not about any of those things, those generally pertain to a stereo source, its about intelligibility...also if your talking about high end audio, why wouldn't you want yours to sound professional? While it is TRULY a very good show, you are the ONLY one I've EVER heard even try to suggest that it - or for that matter, ANY OTHER SHOW - can best Munich. Sorry, as good as any other shows are - and there are many other very good shows, nothing comes CLOSE to Munich in my experience.
@@theaudioanalyst Munich is a TRADE show, Warsaw is a Consumer show. As a consumer, I find Warsaw the better experience. This is also true because Warsaw has 100 TV studio rooms in the National Stadium. Those rooms are unbeatable for setup and resulting sonics. Isolated, 75% pre-treated, what more can you ask for? I also like the fact that until recently, Warsaw has better food and much cheaper costs, with entire families of all ages showing up. Munich wins on the beer though. LoL

And while Thursday and Friday at Munich is dedicated to Press and B2B, you've overlooked that Munich is Consumer based on Saturday and Sunday. Yet everything I've said above is STILL correct. You are the ONLY person I've ever heard express the belief that any show, Warsaw or otherwise, is more important or more exciting.
@@theaudioanalyst You too are entitled to your opinion and far from me to say what people have told you. I can believe that, no problem. However, my points still stand for the consumer. Munich is a trade show first, Warsaw is a consumer show first. This is evident in the type of attendees. Furthermore, Warsaw until recently was far cheaper and the ace up the sleeves was the STADIUM. Those100 booths are used by TV studios and are noise proofed. Cant have sonic bleed-over from Channel 4 coverage to Channel 5 during a televised Soccer match. Imagine what that means for the SQ of people demoing in that room. Only the glass wall overlooking the field has to be treated. You actually can evaluate systems there without the compromises in Munich. Also, the Power system is set up for this peak power consumption unlike most other places. Know Munich has improved, but Warsaw technically kicks ass. It's great to go to both though and even though Warsaw is big and spread over 3 venues, Munich is till somewhat physically bigger, but not enough to make the difference.
The message from the recent show has been that one has to treat a room effectively to squeeze optimum performance from very expensive speakers. It is actually poor room set -ups that suffocate speaker systems demanding technically proficient set-ups or the alternative less expensive DSP manipulations. Another way of looking at it is "buy the best tires if a Buggati is the next car in line otherwise save your money".
