We attend the Löwenbräu party with our lovely subscribers Jay and Christina, and check out the original Paulaner Starkbierfest with our Munich friends. Absolutely loving this. What’s better than a German beer festival. Fair play to the family who booked the table for ten and invited you. That food looks pretty damn fine, those chaps with the whips are a bit weird haha. You can’t beat a bit of dodgy 80s and 90s pop. Great first night!! Session number 2, excellent! Bit pricey I guess but £14 each (minimum of 10) with a big old beer each isn’t too bad. We’re seriously considering going to Rothenburg this Christmas, but via Munich if you fancy another beer or 2? We’re loving the info and history of beer in Munich. Hope you didn’t have too much of a hangover in work. Loved this guys. Cheers 🍻

Interesting info and thanks to your hosts from inviting you. I will have to see if there are any festivals when we visit Bavaria in August. Keep these videos coming. As a side note a local brewery in Toronto(Amsterdam Brewery) produces a beer they call Starke Pilsner which I quite enjoy.

ahhhh Amsterdam Brewery knows what they're doing ;) The Rosenheim Herbstfest runs the end of August. We actually have a video on it. It's the Oktoberfest without the tourists video.

We do not. We tried filming an Oktoberfest video, but itÄs just so loud and chaotic. Maybe next year. We do have a video on the Rosenheim Herbstfest, which is basically the same thing.

@@NearFromHome I'm going for the first time in July. Basically, a bunch of Franconian breweries have cellars built into the side of, well, the Kellerberg, outside the town of Forchheim. For ten days at the end of July they open them up and have a fear! (FEST, autocorrect)

You should take a look at Starkbierfest Reuthberg, much more traditional and fun! Also, do you know of the many "Weinfeste" in the countryside? It's like those beer festivals, only more beautiful, with awesome vine and food! :) Of course there's beer aswell haha

I didn't know there are Stakbierfest celebrations outside Munich :O I have heard of Wurstmarkt, but no other wine festivals. Open to recomendations!

I was at this last March as well, at the Paulaner! It will always be one of my favorite travel memories. The singing, outfits, dancing, and the beer were like nothing I had ever experienced, definitely an "Oktoberfest" vibe but no other tourists in site. I was thinking of trying Frühlingsfest next year, have you ever done that one? Prost 🍻 P.S. A table booking isn't necessary. On a Sunday afternoon with a party of 2 there were plenty of places to sit!

Not that I’m aware of. It’s not well known amongst tourists. You can reserve a table though and some people say they have luck with walk-ins. Camille and I have actually been debating if we should reserve a table and host a tour ourselves and sell the individual seats, but we aren’t sure if enough people would have interest.
