This video documents steps I've taken to remove the two dash consoler trim panels and restore (paint) them to the near original condition.
These panel trims are $100+ new, and $50+ used for each piece.
Therefore, it makes sense to restore both panels with $6 metal paint.
Please also check out my other Murano steering wheel and gear shift knob removal and paint.

I always enjoy finding someone who works/thinks like I do... Someone with mild OCD, a keen eye for detail (possibly ADHD?) and, most importantly, a desire to help others. Even though it usually takes us longer than most, people like us always manage to execute tasks like these with prideful perfection. Not only did each of your Murano paint projects turn out amazing, but the videos are also very thorough and well edited. Nice work, sir!

Great video man, the trim on the Murano does scratch up pretty easily and your video was helpful. Also liked the shift knob video 💯

Greetings from Australia Thank you for taking the time to create and share your video. Whereas I did no need to paint the trims featured in your video, I did need to get to the hazard warning switch. You took me straight to the answer of how I should remove the trim and I appreciate your advice. Best wishes JOHN

Glad it helped. BTW, I just received the airbag recall notice today. You might want to check recall availability in Australia. What year Murano do you have?

I'm definitely doing this! I just bought a used 2014 Murano. And it has this same wear and tear. Thank you so much for posting this. I may do my casing of my window switches also.

Gear shirt knob is also easy. Steering wheel is but more involved. I have separate videos for those.

The black surrounding on window and door lock switches are started to show scratches, and I'm thinking of painting it with the same silver color I used on console panel. I'm thinking have silver background to the black switches will show contrast, especially at night.

I have a question, can this radio fit in the 2007 murano or is it completely different?
@DIYLifeSkills
@DIYLifeSkills 2 года назад
First generation is 2003-2007, and second generation is 2009-2014. And if you google "2007 murano interior" vs "2010 murano interior", you can see that radio control buttons are in completely different location.

Can you do one on your center console trim where the shifter is? Mine is pretty scratched up and I don’t know how to remove it

I just rewatched the shift knob video and I noticed that you don’t have the metal trim on there, never mind brother
@DIYLifeSkills
@DIYLifeSkills 3 года назад
It’s there. Use a small screwdriver to push it down.

@@martinn9485 Actually you can hold tightly and pull down that chrome cover under the shifter knob. Mine was kind of tight, so I just inserted screwdriver to hep loosen it. The video shows you where I inserted the screwdriver
