Khan seriously is probably the most misunderstood character in the fandom. And when I saw him reconstructing Uzi's railgun I was pretty happy. It's just so full circle for him. He went from too afraid/ traumatized to fight back, to wanting to take things into his own hands. And rebuilding Uzi's railgun, using her blueprints, is just the perfect representation of his change.

Khan is a really detailed character if you think about it. Alot of his lines about his trauma are played off as jokes (like the "yeah I had to euthanize your mom because she was dying from acid anyway have fun looking at doors") and Uzi is seen brushing it off and even being mad at him for actually... caring. He took down her drawings of the Solver & Disassembly Drones and stowed it away, knowing what it did to Nori. I mean we do not get to see Nori during her time alive after the Cabin Fever Labs, but it does seem she might be very much traumatized by her botched exorcism and egging on Khan to build doors. She *knew* the Solver was going to send the Disassembly Drones and in the end, she died to them because she was a former host. Khan watched his wife die, even *aided* in her death. I can only imagine how gruesome it must be to kill the person you love and have a (presumably at this point, young) kid with. When I first saw Khans reaction to N attacking Uzi my first thought was "Woah, was N the one to kill/injure Nori?!". Noris questions regarding N during episode 7 kinda... "confirmed" it for me. It's a head canon until proven canon, but Nori saying "You seem familiar, do you have wings?" and her pinning him to the wall with the pickaxe while explaining what happened (showing she might now trust him fully to not attack her... again?) seems like she knows what N is capable of. And in the end, Khan was the one to look for parts to rebuild the railgun and seemed extremely capable. Like, during the short moment where gravity gave out and he, Lizzy and Thad were lifted up he remained stable and calm. He knew about this, he believed Noris predictions about the solver and the Disassembly Drones. Like, he's *THE* husband. Instead of brushing away Noris ramblings he genuinely got into doors to help protect her. This man was TRYING so hard to work through his trauma to be there for his daughter. Him saying "turns out, I'm not what either of you needed" is him acknowledging that he cannot help Uzi with the Solver, allowing her to venture out with N and still was there for her in the end. He's the reason N wasn't killed by Cyn/AS in the end (closing a door to startle her and drop the core, absolute peak). The man who apparently is traumatized by N and his wife dying is now the one to save N from the same fate his wife endured (dying to being attacked and presumably eaten).
