A silver sharpie works incredibly well for coloring the head on the white and gray color combo fyi.

Fantastic tutorial Hans! Could I build some weight into this if I so desired? What do you think would be best , lead wire or some sort of tungsten ?

Thanks Steve! I think you could add weight with some lead wire on the hook, or even hide a bead or conehead under the chenille. Check out Dave's video on our channel for the Flash Drive Minnow. It is a similar fly that incorporates a conehead. I prefer to keep this fly neutrally buoyant. Change your sinking line to change your depth. The way this fly hangs in the water column is a big key to its success. Happy Tying!

How well do the eyes stay on after fishing it for awhile or catching a few fish?

The eyes stay on relatively well with the loctite. I know some folks save up the flies that have lost eyes but are otherwise in good shape and then glue new eyes on to get them ready to fish again.
