WD-40 is a metal cleaner, not a lubricant!!! They sell lubricants as well. Remember you can get the squeaks out of springs and whatnot with WD-40, but they might very well start to rust if you dont add a little oil afterwards.
The idea is brilliant but the cost puts it out of reach for many people. Please consider reducing the cost. Remember even though it's a murphy bed, it's still just a bed.
That price is just outlandish !! There's not 20 percent of that price in materials. You're hosing the buyers and anyone that has a good idea of how to build a concealed bed without such a costly item should put up their own posting for us to see. And then $59.00 for shipping !?!?!? I've gotten a crate engine delivered for less....
Good explanation and a stable mechanism buuuut.... Even if i had the money, just nope, to expensiv 300 would be the max. And wd40 is not a lubricant its the opposite a lubricant remover. It does provide a lybrication for a short time paradoxically but it destroy the original Lubrication. Still enough good lubricants out there for heavyloaded slow spinning bearings. Have those bearings a cage or are fully loaded with balls?
I think my "gas struts or gas springs" on my horizonal murphy bed/desk are not working. Bed is VERY HEAVY to lift up. so is there anyone in Honolulu who can install this in my Murphy Desk/Bed?
Saludos desde Ecuador me ayudar con la cotización de los herrajes o kit de las tres versiones q tienen como es también para cama escritorio horizontal??, gracias
I question the logic of MurphyBed to leave it to the buyer to install the springs. Murphybed couldn't manufacture this mechanism with springs installed? looks much easier to install them than IRL. MY Knuckles took a beating.
3:50 wouldn’t it be possible to have a (secondary secure locking) mechanism that can release the load on the open bed frame? *i’m probably thinking of a variation on a ladder mechanism with an extended lever that you pull in multiple steps (eh..)
HELP: I have the same system... My springs are opening in opposite facing opening. the hook on one end is facing downward and the other end, its facing upward. So I really cant just pot under the frame holes. one of the hook has to be on the top of the hole.....all the springs are like that.. all 16 of them...
Your depiction of putting on springs and taking them off the mechanism is ludicrous! No it’s not easy and they don’t “pop on and pop off” as you want us to believe. I’ve had 2 handymen in the Chicago area flat out refuse to touch your product when offered the job. What does that say about your product?
If the mechanism doesn’t have the face panel attached to it then it is easy with a little finessing you can get them into place pretty fast, if the panel is installed then yes it’s very difficult to install them that’s why you need to remove the face panels from the mechanism, un tension thé mechanism and install or remove springs.
How about I fly you in to build my Murphy bed and pay for your accommodations? That way it would only cost me 4-5 thou. Would you shave your head be nice and put the mattress in place? Or does that cost extra?
