@@jaybird3651 That's nothing to brag about lol , living that lifestyle is something you can never win in. Why live a life scared if your gonna make it to see the next day or lose all your belongings to the feds ?
You could see the hurt in his face when he said that he has known Nelly since the 4th grade. When you fall out with family, shit cuts deep. Shit hurts.
You aren't lying. Even up until the last day of 6th grade for me, I didn't know what gangs were about. My *FIRST* day of 7th grade, it was like walking into gangland, like WTF is this. Dudes I knew that were squares a couple months ago were full blown into "red or blue" and it was a mind trip
thanks for shouting out Ucity hommie ! you know when i was growing up in ucity i did'nt realize how special it was until i became grown and i miss it so much , when ever i go home i always like to drop by ucity and get some of that good ol chinese food and always hoping i run into one of my old dawgs ; Murphy , i am so proud of you , nelly and all of the st lunitics , i am a musician still on the struggle and you brothers made it and by that yall showed me it can be done ; It's my hope that you guys can all bury whatever hatchets yall need to bury and get to putting out more slammin tunes and show these imposters how it's done !
Murphy was the best lyricist in the group, but he came out in the wrong time. You had to be a megastar to pop from 1999 to 2008. I feel like if Murphy came out a decade later he would've popped. He's sort of like Cyhi da Kid to me.
Never forget when he dropped “what the hook gon be” my 7th grade year. Jumped on the bad boys 2 sound track “shake ya tail feather” and a solo album. I thought his career was gonna take off!
@@terikathomas2131 Yeah I remember when we had that short time period to pick which high-school we wanted to go to and everyone rushed to pick before we got had to go to the school we were zoned to. If you didn't go to a school with a lit football team or a lit prep rally it was a dub here in FL.
@@christianjames92 it’s crazy bc I grew up in the south and in a small town. So we had one high school. So everyone knew everyone pretty much. And sports, especially football, is law!! Friday night lights were a real thing. Then hanging out after the games at the local Burger King lol
''You can tell by the way,I walk I ain"t from around here, probably couldn't tell because I ain't walking no where'-Murphy Lee 2000-2002 pulling up listning to Nelly and the Lunatics was the shit.
Murphy Lee is definitely part of my childhood thank you Murphy Lee for being part of my childhood. I just found out Murphy Lee is a Sagittarius ♐ too my Sag bro. We Sagittarius are very underrated but we the 🐐 as well.
Its crazy how your mom parents live in a blood hood and then your dad parents live in a crip hood. Thank God for a strong Dad who kept me and my brother on the right path.
I remember thinking that Nelly and the St Lunatics were Crip affiliated based on the artwork in the Country Grammar cd, there's a photo where Nelly is chilling with his people and a lot of dudes in the background were throwing up the C
You can hear the smile and respect in his voice from the intro of everyone he interviews. Sounds genuine. And puts the guest at ease like "they ain't forgot about me"
🤣 I remember being in 7th grade, I had a blue jersey from Nellys brand VoKal and told all of my friends we’re crips. after a few days one of the guys didn’t want to be in it anymore and we jumped him out but nobody ever got jumped in.. crazy times as kids 😂😂
"We jumped him out but nobody ever got jumped in" lmaooooo that's too funny. Sounds like the white boys I grew up with in MI. They all just started calling themselves crips straight out of the blue lol.
Never been so excited for a vlad thumbnail/interview in my entire life. Lol idk man.. of course Nelly played a huge part in my childhood. I’m 33 and so obviously so did the St. Lunatics. And guess which one was my favorite? Murphy Lee baby!! I always felt like he was the best rapper out of all the rest of em. The best lyricist and the most relatable. Man I fw murph forreal
In 87' STL turned into a warzone. The Bloods and Crips started wilding out. I was in kindergaten and I remember them teaching us what and what not to wear.
“You can tell by the way I walk, I ain’t from round here. Probably can’t tell cause I ain’t walking nowhere” is one of my favorite lines. I say that every time I go out of town lol
Murph always been my favorite Lunatic he seems like a real brotha damn I remember the street lights days and the house phones especially the rotary and cordless house phones the real first cellphones lol
Yes. I'm a Midwest Sister in tha House. Jason Weaver and Bernie Mac from Chicago. Cedric Entertainer from Jefferson City Missouri. Sinbad from Michigan. Just all down to earth humble people they just happen to be Celebrities. Very Proud☝️☝️☝️
Lol this takes me back. Just saying U City reminds me of catching the Metrolink when it was brand spanking new, hitting the pageant all the time when it opened, checking out local rap and rock acts at Ciceros. Damn what a time 🥺
@@jeffreyblocker7371 I ain’t been back in a minute I used to crate dig at Vintage Vinyl all the time and streetwise records is where a I saw Major Figgahs do a signing with no fans 😂
