The charity exists to provide acts of kindness, generosity, and service to the community. These are things that represent the legacy of Officer Tarentino, and further of our officers and first responders everywhere. Garda Síochána translates to English as Guardian of the Peace. This name embodies the idea behind the collaboration. Taking it a step further, I requested to use a scent that clones Light Blue Pour Homme by Dolce & Gabbana in order to incorporate the blue theme and represent, the "Thin Blue Line". Scent notes for this soap will be: Mandarin, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Juniper, Rosemary, Sichuan, Rosewood, Musk, Incense and Oakmoss. This is a marine/aquatic accord with a soapy finish. I really love this scent as it lends itself to nearly any occasion or season. Mrs. Ruds approves of this scent as well. Strength of scent is mid-strength out of the conatier and once lathered, and is by design. Scents that share a similar profile in wet shaving are: Australian Private Reserve Fresca and Stubble Buster Burnish.
Garda Síochána is offered in the Murphy & McNeil’s tallow and duck fat soap base for this collaboration. I chose this soap base because I love it and am very familiar with it, having reviewed it in the past ( • Murphy & McNeil Claddagh ). This soap base iteration includes the following ingredients: Stearic Acid, Water, Beef Tallow, Duck Fat, Potassium Hydroxide, Kokum Butter, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Coconut Milk, Kaolin Clay, Lanolin, Tocopheral, Fragrance, Tussah Silk. The base is soft to mid firmness and is quite thirsty. It can handle as much water as you throw at it and when properly dialed in displays a lather reminiscent of Elmer’s glue. Slickness is excellent in both the primary and residual aspects. Post shave is elite, leaving the skin feeling luxurious long after the lather has been rinsed away. The resulting ShaveScore for Murphy and McNeil’s current Eisteacht is a 95. Soap bases with similar performance are: Declaration Grooming (bison) and Wholly Kaw (donkey milk).
