I can remember seeing them in that livery when very young , I am a driver now almost 40 years and drove all of them. They were not fitted for multiple working when they came but were retro fitted in 1974. They were a great loco. The GM success led to the re-engining of the Metropolitan Vickers A and C class lococs with GM power units.

I used to see them tearing past my uncle's house in Finglas on their way to Sligo. Two of them always coupled end to end. Impressive sight.

It was also used as a driving cab for push pull from Dublin to Kildare. 🇮🇪🇪🇺

Used to see them as a kid on the Dublin-Sligo route. Awesome. Bought the model as well for memories but not very clear where the little bits that came with it go!

I can definitely see the American influence. Nice looking diesel.

The locos really turned heads when they were first introduced, that's for sure.

That’s the livery the loco was delivered in' I remember them on the Enterprise Service Dublin Belfast always arriving into platform 2 Great Victoria Street Stn. In later yrs they operated the push pull service Limerick Junction Limerick.

everything looked out of focus and washed out. Shame really as this is a Fab Model.

Thanks for the feedback George, we're making some changes to the set but you can check out high quality images on our website in the meantime.

Sorry, but those scary ghost diesels are going nowhere near me. As much as I hate all types of diesel engine, the two on the table gave me the creeps. The only kind of ghost engine I can tolerate is the GWR Photographic Grey Saddle Tank Engine, no. 1361. I have her in my collection, and her name is Spookie.

The grey livery certainly has that effect, Kelly. Thanks for watching.
