Are you sick of casting out only for the cheese to fall off your hook when Murray cod fishing? Well here is a fishing hack that will help to prevent that from happening. Filmed with: amzn.to/3Wz6PcK
Using the lighter is a great little hack to getting the cheese on. I have fished with a guy who used to put all the cheese on the hooks first while at home and bring the whole bag of cubed cheese with hooks pre set out fishing
Hi Robbie longtime sub first comment thankyou very much for all your help over the years it has really helped me I’m booked it to the painters caravan park from 27th taking what I have learnt put it into action first time cod /yellow & yabbie fisho newbee on the loose look out haha 👍
Haha newbie on the loose. 🤣🤣 Thanks so much for your kind words mate. The river is looking immaculate at the moment. It's still quite a bit higher than normal, but it's cleared up and is fishing exceptionally well.
Thanks for that tip, I gave up using tasty cheese because I couldn’t keep it on the hook, the only success I’ve had is with cheddar cheese sticks, the kind you stick in your kids lunch box. Will try this method next time. Thanks.
@@robbiefishing there's definitely something about that spot though, not uncommon to find a cod head's bigger than basketball's Chopped sitting on the banks. Honestly though, they wouldn't taste any good at that size I'd imagine?
Never heard that one great tip ! Another one I’ve used that works great.. Cut kids stringers cheese in to size of hook shank . Microwave a few seconds until soft like play dough . Sink the hook in while its warm then put in the fridge overnight.. itl set like a cod cheesy lollipop
Great cod fishing hack thanks Glenn.👍 I’ll have to give it a go. I normally use BBQ Shapes and they keep the cheese nicely on hook instead of me eating the bait😳. There’s not much better than a box of BBQ Shapes while cod fishing - heaps better than old cheese🤣 Thanks for sharing Love your work Healthy Habits
A great way my mates and I used to use cheese as bait was to get a sheet of chux wipe and a bag of black and gold tast cheese, melt it onto the chux wipe the night before, cut it into squares and put them in a sandwich bag in the fridge over night. Never lose your bait and not risking the (even if not true) fish not being able to process cheese in their stomachs.
exactly right buddy ,my biggest ever cod was 25 pound on chuxycheese . After hearing that people tried to eat a cod that really stunk when they gutted it due to cheese in it's system.. I was told to do it on chux in the microwave..Okay it could be worse if it got loose ......but it doesn't
I think the biggest I've ever caught on cheese was only about 20 pound, the biggest one I caught was on carp guts in an run off of the Murray it was just shy of 80 pound and it was straight back in the drink for the old girl. The biggest I didn't catch was under the Edward River bridge in deniliquin with a dirty great big whole yabby. Almost snapped the old ugly stick in half and wrapped me straight around the pile on.
hey robbie have you ever tried a hair rig like we use for carp in the uk? cheese is a great bait for it or another method if your using cheese paste is to use it in conjuction with a cork or sponge ball you just mould the bait round them but because its boyant itll sit pop up style from the bottom
Very good tip. When I set rat traps in the farm shed I melt the cheese slightly and it gives off much more scent. It also makes it harder for the rat to get the cheese off. Oh that's just incase you know some dirty rats that need taken care of 🤣
I get natural twine and rub cheese, peanut butter, whatever into the string. I couldn't catch one mouse inside the house, but he chewed his way into the kids empty 'Up and Go' drink carton. After I found his weakness, he was a goner.
idk if its just me but i suggest using extra tasty cheese caught 2 cod in the span of 20 minutes first time using it and it does not fall off the hook no matter how far i cast
Good morning GDAY Robbie merry Christmas . For Christmas I got a baitcaster and a Pryml fishing kayak. Have you ever caught a carp on a lure? I caught three yesterday on a purple size 3 stumpjumper. Hope you had a great christmas
I do it all before I leave. Cheese on maybe a dozen hooks, then chuck them in an old pan til they start to melt. Mould them to the hook and when they cool they are firmly set on the hook.
Good morning rob Have you seen what the carp boys use over here ? It's called a "hair rig".... I wonder if it would work in your situation.. Personal I'd eat all the cheese 🤪. Mate have a cracking day regards to all. 😎🏴
Thanks mate. I've heard of a hair rig, I must look it up. Haha I tried using cooked prawns for bait once and I ate then all. LOL I hope you have a ripper day too mate.
@@robbiefishing I think the hair rig favours bottom feeders , haha the peeled prawns we use for the big perch and also as a sea bait for Whiting and flat fish..but I agree delicious lol
Some people melt it and put chux cloth in it, but I personally don't like the idea of leaving chuclx cloth in the fish's guts, or in the environment for that matter.
We've been using cheese forever. The trick is buy cheap cheese because it doesn't crumble. Another thing is cod don't go for the cheese, they go for the river shrimp that sit on the cheese eating it.
You may have to check your laws of regulation but what I do is melt cheese on sum cut up pieces of chux cloth preferably mozzarella wait for it to turn hard and it stays on the hook so we’ll.
@@robbiefishing that was the story of that duck which dived down and took my cheese cube on my handline and which turned into a flying fish with everyone around me screaming
Rap the cheese in a piece of women pantyhose work better than that. We fish catfish with cheese here in America and I found that they cannot pulled the cheese off with the pantyhose.
Hey mate, I reckon that's a myth. If that was true there would be dead cod floating everywhere in my local river at this time of the year, and fisheries would ban it in a flash if that was true.
