Menelik Watson How could you start one of the biggest controversial movements without even pausing to think of the repercussions, or what would happen if your movement were to come to fruition. His "influence" didn't destroy us, if it did, America would've died when Abraham abolished slavery. If MLK had been allowed to live, he wouldn't be sitting around crying about the "sad state of affairs" we're in, he would do something about it, and he'd do it where it mattered; in politics. Racism, or any "ism" is taught, not born. And when your leaders are corrupt, and allow the beatings, murders, unjust convictions, etc, then we are taught that behavior is okay.

I fucking hate that shit. My ex hated rap and any song no matter the message she would instantly dislike it. My lil' brother used to do that but now he likes some of the shit I show him. My ex only liked Macklemore, who I do like but it's like what the fuck. Murs has a real message here and I know for a fact her and some of my friends wouldn't even pay attention.

Conspiracy 21 thats the problem. most people dont care who the rapper is or what the message is. they immediately dislike it no matter what. I mean, I may not like some artists, but if they have a good song, I will listen to it. Hating something just because you dont like the artist or the genre is a stupid reason.

Don't take this negatively, that's certainly not even close to the direction I'm coming from. Not sure what you mean "Murs before"? At the time of the album he'd already been in the game for 20+ years, maybe you all of that. I'd challenge you to go back and listen to his FELT albums with Slug from Atmosphere, or the album he made directly with Fashawn. All his work with the Living Legends. He hasn't changed that much from my "personal" perspective. Although the production and his popularity has afforded him the ability to allow him to acquire beats from producers with a lot of notoriety. Again don't take this as a negative comment, we both have respect for this artist and what he's done starting from grinding from the bottom of the barrel. Now he's a rapper not a single mainstream rapper doesn't know about. He's a rapper's rapper. Snoop love the dude!
