Murukku/Chakli is an interesting deep fried snack made using rice flour. Particularly, this variety of murukku is unique and fun, which means, every bite feels flavourful but at the same time the spikes on the murukku pinches inside the mouth, which is kind of a massage! Also, this is one among the favorite recipes prepared mostly during the festival seasons to share among family and friends.
Preparing this variety of murukku is quite easy, but you need to be careful while adding the quantity of butter. Adding any extra quantity may become difficult to squeeze-out a continuous rope of dough to make those swirls! Also, making those swirls might feel difficult, but it is actually simple, just follow the dough preparation instructions and a major part will be taken care of in the process.
The irresistible flavour from the proportions of cumin seeds, sesame seeds, ajwain and chilli powder will be like magic, you have to give this recipe a try to feel it. Let me know your experience in the below.
Ingredients:
2 cups Rice Flour
¼ cup Urad Dal
1.5 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1.5 tsp Salt
½ tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
½ tsp Sesame Seeds
¼ tsp Ajwain
¼ tsp Asafoetida
1.5 cups Water
2 tbsp Butter
Good to make about 34 murukku!
