Hey everyone, I picked up a sample of Musc Noir Rose by Narciso Rodriguez from the department store a couple of weeks ago and I've been wearing it. I thought I would share a Review? First Impressions?....you know... my thoughts on it.
Musc Noir Rose - For Her is a new perfume released in 2022 under the House of Narciso Rodriguez, and the perfumer is Sonia Constant.

This perfume is amazing. It is quite different but not super unique (at least to me) but i love this for that reason.. i just want to smell lil bit different & pleasant, not being polarising screaming “LOOK AT ME”.

The French TikTok craze last winter😍 By the time I discovered it rumor had it it was discontinued! Lo and behold I found it at Macys a few months ago❤️ I have several bottles of Narciso Rodriguez perfumes and do like them obviously ☺️

I bit the bullet and bought l’heure blueu on Friday after stalking it for a year or so, and then seeing your thoughts on it being comforting. I had some DJs vouchers, so it didn’t hurt so much❣️

I tried this and I liked it but yes, a lot of tuberose! I don't enjoy for her edp, I like the EDT. I also love Narciso Poudrée.

This has become popular this week, and some are saying it's like a shadow of Poison. I need to test it.

Hmmm I think if you are a lover of Poison, you might be disappointed with this one. This is a LOT sweeter and is missing the spice, the woods, the greenness, the sourness and edginess that Poison has. Poison also has a bit of a vintage bent to it. That’s just to my nose though, perhaps I am missing something in the comparison 🤗 definitely worth a sniff though, it’s pretty. Thanks for watching and merry Christmas 🎄

I just picked up this one and I really enjoy it but I do like the original Musc Noir much more. The name was a bit misleading for me tbh. I thought it would be a rose dominant fragrance but I get only tuberose/white florals on my skin.

I don’t mind people being critical about perfumes either. I honestly agree with them that some famous commercial (or even some niche) brands are now coming up with the repetitive sweet mass appealing scent profile these days, and the problem is that they’re not going back and now all losing the creativity put into their work.

That’s a fair point. 👍 I think it that swing probably has a lot to do with brands being bought out by bigger conglomerates too.

Thanks for this review. It sounds like something I might like, but I wonder if it’s like Sisley’s Izia La Nuit. That’s another rose & dark fruit beauty.

Hey Beth! I had the same inkling so I wore them side by side for the day. Quite different to the Sisley- the Sisley comparatively is more fruity in the opening with that blackcurrant and the dry down is more woody-patchouli. Also doesn’t have the muskiness. I feel like the Narciso is more enveloping and soft :) I also felt I got more rose from the Sisley and more Tuberose from the Narciso.

@@TheTopNote I LOVE that you had the same inkling and tried them side by side 💗 I’ve had mixed experience with the NR musk, so I’m not always sure. I was an early devotee of For Her EDT even though that one could induce a headache if I over-sprayed. I do have a smallish bottle of the Pure Musc, which I think is very pretty. I would like to sample this one, too. 🥰😘 I absolutely love your reviews and I trust your nose.

Hi, I have about 5 NR fragrance and yes they’re very expensive but I somehow NONE of them have really made me happy and never reach out for them even when I just want to smell like anything really for running errands :(

Oh that's a shame, but at least you know! I do really love the black cube EdT - its the only one I own a full bottle of and it has been discontinued. Having said that, since doing this review, I managed to score another sample of this one and I actually ended up enjoying it a lot more after a few more wears.

@@TheTopNote Maybe I’ll reach out for them more for these to grow on me. Infact I find sarah Jessica parker’s lovely better wear that the NR for her edp (pink bottle) while that’s considered a dupe of it. It’s strange how fragrances are more personal. Try lovely if you can. Maybe you’ll decide it for me as to why… 😃😇

I haven’t tried Noir but my understanding is that it is not as sweet so, I expect I may enjoy that one more - but I cannot say definitively.

The black cube ☺️. I did have the For Her EdP (pink rectangle) for a few years but I ended up selling it.

Hi Cherie, how would you ‘go light’ on a strong fragrance? If you do just one spritz, where would you aim it? I always worry that I’ve overdone it and people might lean away (and it’s not just social distancing 😂). ❤️

Haha! I usually spritz on my abdomen and arms under my clothes. Also helps to prevent me going nose blind too so I can enjoy it all day :)

Have you smelled Narciso L'Absolu? For some reason I think is gonna be too close to it. I adore this family and since I haven't been able to find a tester I blind purchased online, but I'm afraid is gonna be somehow redundant owning L'Absolu 😒

Hey there. I also own L’Absolu & have a large decant of Musc Noir Rose. They don’t smell anything like each other-totally different vibes. So you don’t have to worry about it being redundant.

Technical comment: I watch your videos using headphones. Unfortunately your sound is not balanced. One side of the headphones plays much louder than the other side. I always have the felling I'm one-sided deef🙈 Thats's very awkward, because I love watching your videos. Does anyone else have this problem?

Argh! I thought I had fixed this. Thank you for letting me know! I will investigate further. I do test on two sets of headphones when I’m editing but it all sounds normal at my end for some reason! I will look into it further. Thanks again!
