The tutorial describes how a muscle is organized and contracts from the level of the organism to the biochemical level of the crosslinked actin and myosin
Great video! I'm writing this to help myself remember it: M line is the Middle of the Myosin (and the sarcomere), Z line is the end. The i band is only light (actin, the thin filaments.. actually appears light) The H band is only heavy (Myosin) -no overlap The A band is All of the heavy, including where it overlaps with light. Remember the myosin is heavy because it holds the myosin heads While contracting, H band disappears, i bands get smaller, A stays the same (Myosin doesn't grow/shrink)
Thank you SO much for posting this video. I missed my last Anatomy class and this was the subject. I'm retaking A&P and I never understood sarcomere contraction. This made the subject very clear.
Thank you so much! I am doing the IB and this video really cleared things up for me. My book uses a different approach and I was going mad because I did not understand it. Now I know, how everything works !! Thanks again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! This video has saved me! It's so simple and informative and is perfect for me as I find the google explanations VERY scientific, technical and confusing! This has really helped me with an assignment, thank you so much!
