I would say I am a little surprised and a little unsurprised. From an engineering perspective they have the advantage of a ton of reusable assets from remake. The regions and the story areas were exactly what I had hoped they would be, but I was really pleased with all of the extra stuff particularly with Chadley. Then there's the mini games. That's possible when you have a few separate teams that do this on the side and then it goes in the game. Decent chance SE outsourced some if not all. I'll do a video next month once I wrap up everything where I do my part 3 predictions, but I think you're going to be really surprised at how soon we get it. SE has to make a wutai region, the northern snow area, rocket town area, mideel region & surrounding islands, and then modify a few regions like Junon (underwater reactor) and I'd be willing to bet money somewhere out there wether at SE or a 3rd party some team is already working on the snowboarding mini game and the submarine mini game.
How did you start the fight with 2 full ATB bars with cloud ? The only way I know how to do this is with an accessory which I need space for the ribbon.
Also. One thing to play around with. In dealing with the king zu. The easiest way I’ve seen in damaging his wings is either 1. A double shot of sidewinder with red XIII. Or 2. An upper cut followed by dive kick from Tifa X2. These usually take out a wing each An Arcane ward and double shot of thundaga from Aeirth does wonders as well
You can buy warding materias in this game, you can have unlimited amounts of warding materias. (You mention only being able to have 4 maxed out warding materias)
I’ve just started doing these bouts on hard. (Regretting it now). And the best I’ve been able to do is when I use stop and sleep on one and battle the other. I believe that the Jabberwock is the only one it doesn’t work on. Makes the fights more manageable
Thank you for that comment. I only included the last battle because this video would have been hilariously long if I had all of them, but Four Way Deadlock was significant and I probably should have included it. What makes this one special is because King Zu is in round 1, it means that you pretty much have to throw your A-Team that you would normally reserve for round 2 at king zu in round 1, which means using up all your elemental materia for that. I believe my winning setup looked a little like this: Round 1: Cloud Tifa Aerith All 3 with absorb fire. You never know who is gonna be left standing or has ATB when king zu wants to swan song. Because quetz is constantly messing with you, an argument could be made for one absorb thunder at least for Aerith to stay far away from king zu and also cast thundara on zu wings. Round 2: - The yuffie show, ribbon accessory - Red XIII, white cape to block toad - Barrett with the accessory that puts him at limit Level 3, Yolo on being vulnerable to toad, hopefully he stays outta range This second setup is my usual B team with yuffie essentially soloing great Marlboro unless some level 3 limit opportunities present themselves. I try and use yuffie+red synergy skills to bring them up to lv3 ASAP. As crazy as this sounds, I go straight into fire ninja mode and basically ignore great Marlboro and just dodge both. Jabberwock is the petrifying threat, so everyone needs warding materia with quake to block that. Yuffie gets magnify haste, Swift cast cure, and serves as the main healer while still dodging everything. Eventually red and Barrett get full limit gauges from taking DMG while you're yuffie and that's when they start to pull their weight. All in all this is definitely the second hardest one.
You can use Magnify and Cleansing Materia to cast Resist on all teammates, this is basically a Ribbon for a limited time, this will protect you from Bad Breath and the Petrifying Gorgon Shield, the buff last quite a long time withouth Magic Focus, if Resist is about to run out then re-cast it again, you should be able to complete the match with only 2 magnified cast. This way you can save Warding Materia and White Capes.
