The comments section when the song was playing was hilarious, still amazes me as a fan since 1999 that people still know so little about Muse, this song is what Muse are best known for in the fanbase, its what got most of us into them, I understand people only listen to songs on the radio but give anything from their first 4 or 5 albums a listen and KOBK is not a surprise
Yes it's a pure muse adn song. I hear Waff and Liberation and they are insane ! Wow ! Verona and ghost are excellent too. I hate Halloween. I let you discover the whole album which is a very very good album. A killer.
I've been a fan of Muse since high school back in 2007 and sadly was introduced to them through fucking Twilight. but I started listening to them and have heard everything they have to offer and my opinion is that Muse is like a fine wine they go well with many moods and situations and only get better with age.
I think there was actually a gutteral during that breakdown, but it just had mad effects on it. Matt can definitely do gutterals because there's a video from last week of him randomly doing one during madness
Their old album, Origin of Symmetry, had a lot of heavier, more memorable songs. Plug In Baby, Citizen Erased, Darkshines, New Born, Bliss are all pretty damn good.
@@FeelMyFerret the chorus is pretty heavy on darkshines, it's one of the few songs he screams in, overall it's not "heavy" but it definitely has more heavy elements to it vocally than most of their discography
I think this is going to go down as one of their best tracks, so fucking good, got the classic BSAR vocals and the modernized metal riffing and double kicks, the chorus it self has so much depth and the variations each time is soo damn good . The solo is also magical for tapping which is hard to sound interesting nowadays!! TUNOMETECA RASARAMBICHE
Been a massive Musefan since their debut album. Been many magical moments since then. And these new songs are up there with their best stuff. Can hardly wait for the album! Boy can he riff! 🤘🔥
I think you should have a listen to their old albums: origin of symmetry, absolution and black holes and revelations cus they are much more rocky and riffy but also some nice cool experimental stuff
KOBK definitely rocked, and brought me back to the “Bliss” and “Stockholm” days. But i really like “Won’t Stand Down” released earlier this year better!
Muse are great. I got into them in a big way when I went through a phase at college where I tried to distance myself from Metal to reinvent myself as someone more approachable and to better fit in with social circles. It was a stupid decision. I immediately went back to Metal within a year. But Muse were one of the bands I gravitated too most and on reflection I can see why. The songs I loved most were heavy. Muse do so much experimentation that they have songs which are your typical pop hit, songs which are heavy bangers verging on the side of metal and even actual classical symphonies. But their heavier side is brilliant. I'd recommend listening to all Muse songs, don't limit yourself to just heavy shit because there are so many amazing lighter songs. But if you want heavy songs, I'd recommend these: Dead Star (from the Dead Star EP) Stockholm Syndrome (from Absolution) Assassins (from Black Holes and Revelations) Reapers (from Drones)
this is the first time the drummer has used a double kick in any capacity. You can look down upon that if you like, but I like that finding new ways, instead of sticking to what has worked in the past
Muse has had heavy tracks since I've known of them from back in the Absolution days but yeah Muse is fucking sick. They've had their experimental periods with more electronic type stuff but ultimately, Muse is one of the best, most underappreciated, misunderstood bands out there
The song is a 10/10 imo. Great instrumentals and structure as you said, but the vocals also... Cool melodies and the "alalaalaa" was too sick lmao. Tunometecabrasarambiche 🤣
My biggest takeaway from this album has been the guitar work. I forgot how good of a guitar player Matt Bellamy is, and I respect and appreciate his ability to turn it on and off depending on what the song needs musically.
Funny u mentioned Dream Theater because both Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci have mentioned in the past that the band is inspired by Muse. Definitely check out their early work and you’ll hear it. This song shows that they’re leaning back towards their roots but with bigger production combining lots of things they’ve done in one song. Loved the reaction btw 🤘🏼
If you like Muse with the heavier sound you should check out their albums Absolution and Drones. They are pretty riffy and heavy on those albums. Yeah I have no idea what you said at the end 🤣, Tuna.... Something was all I got.
Muse releasing heavier music than Architects, Pwd, Adtr, etc... What multiverse is this XD Really dig the song! Also, you gotta do the new TDWP, my favorite of the singles !
Heavy Muse = Stockholm Syndrome. That's the next one you should listen to then just listen to the whole Drones album, specifically Reapers. Then for some fat bass action Panic Station then Dead Inside has great moments, amazing melody. Then go back to Absolution (album) for Map Of The Problematique. Phenomenal 😁👍
They have another song called the globalist, the middle section of that song is even more similar to dream theater climax sections. Probably some kind of tribute after DT took influence from them in octavarium.
I think muse did something clever ever since black holes and revelations onwards which was to soften their music to attract new fans or enlarge their fan base, but now they seem to have turned the switch and said alright now that you are here listen to what we really are about..
Tunometecabrasarambiche. Did nobody listen to origin of symmetry? Some really fun heavy songs on that. Same with absolution and black holes. For oos I'd say micro cuts and citizen erased. For absolution I'd say stockholm syndrome, hysteria, and the small print. For black holes I highly recommend assassin or city of delusion. Oh yeah and then drones has psycho, reapers, the handler, etc... 2nd law has Survival which is an amazing song. Muse has a lot more than people give them credit for. Oh yeah...dead star. That's an absolute banger
That production is so weird with the heavy guitars getting so loud, also noticed it on another new track. But still, the songs great! Also, I’ll take some fries with my tunometecabrasarambiche please.
As many people have said, you'll find more heavy stuff in Muse's older albums, but every album has at least one good song of that style to offer. You asked if they usually do double kicks, and the answer to that is no, in fact this album is the first time Dominic Howard has a double kick pedal for his setup.
Amazing reaction my friend Metalbirb!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you..It is a more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bDX3FhmyNac.html
Tunometacabrasarambiche This single is honestly one of the best Muse songs they have released since the Handler at least. Calls back to a lot of OoS and BHaR
Funny that you said Dream Theater, did you know that Octavarium was influenced by Muse Absolution album back in 2003 so yeah muse were always pretty heavy in their own ways😊
Ahhhh man, I don't know why I feel this way but I think a lot of us wanted it to just step up the heavyness a little more at the end. It felt like it was building to a big crushing ending but it stayed pretty much the same as it started.
It would be cool to hear an album reaction from you, though I just worry you might not enjoy it as much, since the band has stated the songs are completely different from each other, like Compliance was. It has a bit of everything, like a greatest hits but of new songs. The lead singer described these of some of the new songs: "Liberation" being a Queen sounding song, a review described it as impossible not to think of Bohemian Rhapsody. "Ghosts(How Can I Move On)" being his version of an Adele song, a melancholic sad piano ballad "You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween" being spooktronic... wtv that means 🤣🤣 "Verona" containing synthy electronic textures "We Are Fucking Fucked" being the darkest B-side of Muse's life, a frenetic finale to the album.
Tunowhatevertherestwas. Just like the single we heard from them a while back, I respect that they're adding some of this stuff, it's definitely one of the better radio rock songs around right now but...I just don't really dig the overall sound enough to say this has replay value for me
