It’s good that they at least have Ito and Yamaoka directly involved. Yamaoka said in an interview recently that he’s been using the sound effects from the original game and updating them for the remake. I can’t wait to hear the rearranged music.

I'm just really happy that this is happening, remake looks so cool in narrative and gameplay, i just wish that they change a few things that are wrong or flawed in the original (like, Eddie not having much spotlight as Angela), the only thing i believe remake should do better it's Maria's clothing, that butterfly tatto has an extremely important subtext, we should see her belly button too. I'm just so glad, i pre-ordered the deluxe version days ago!!

With your multi-hour making of videos you have really cemented yourself in the Silent Hill discourse as an authority. :) I was actually searching for this reaction a few days ago. Good to see it now. Too bad about the image resolution, but your excitement is great and quite in tune with mine. Really hope this game does well. Wouldn't mind having a remake of all 4 first games, like the Resident Evil series has. Would be excited for each of them if done with similar passion as this one seems to be made. Perhaps would be excited about Silent Hill 4: The Room the most. There probably aren't that many people who would consider this original to be in any way perfect, but it just had so many great gameplay ideas that weren't as fully realized as would have been cool. To me it seems it was flawed in a way that the new developers would just have to go back to the ideas at the center of it, and then flesh it out from there. I mean to have a central hub area that sort of seems like a safe place, but then changes in horrible ways. It seemed like Kojima was inspired by that specific game when making P.T, and there were a lot of good ideas in 4 that would have potential for innovative future mechanics. And yeah, new original games like Silent Hill f. I do hope this succeeds.

I am really curious how they're gonna do the hospital otherworld transition. If they're gonna keep it like the original where he basically passes out and gets like transferred out to that gated off area while hearing Mary call to him, or if they're gonna do the movie transition of the walls peeling off (which I kinda hope they don't tbh.)

Ah the cardboard pyramid head reminds me of when i made mine for a cosplay a few years ago. That was fun to do and make. I know I'm a month late but i know people complained about Angela's face being more rounded, to me it looks a bit swollen but i don't hate a rounder face. What brothers me is James's hair. Idk what it is about it but it doesn't blend well so it looks like he has bad highlights. More ashen blonde would work better for me. And yeah the combat animation is janky. Of all of the things they work on I hope that one is ironed out better.

I see people's disdain of some of the redesigns, and kind of overall being wet blankets... Honestly I am optimistic about this game. From what has been shown, it does look good, especially the set design and environments. The character models look great too imo. The animations look like they could use a bit of polish, but I honestly am not understanding why it's getting backlash. I understand skepticism with Konami, but we can't keep hating on them for the pachinko machine :(

What I think is incredibly hilarious about the first movie is that the director tried so hard to be a misogynist about it that he accidentally made a feminist movie with strong female leads lol. The game's looking good, though! I haven't tried it yet, but might sometime by the end of this week.

I hold a healthy dose of pessimism. I'm sorry. Off course i'll play it (on Pc probably Skidrow's release). I will never forgive Konami for what they did to Silent Hills. Never! /with a 3 yold voice) NEVER! XD. That was the game fans deserved at the time we NEEDED IT . SHs impacted and revived the whole genre for a full generation (ok almost) as no other game of the saga did, and it was just a playable teaser, just imagine what the full game under KOJIMA would have been, written by DEl Toro...sniff.
