While we were stuck in Perry, GA (check out the story here: • RVing Woes - Our Truck... ) this past October, we decided to head to the Museum of Aviation in Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, GA. Check out what we saw and hear what we thought of the experience. We love spontaneous trips and sometimes the RV life provides those opportunists.

Absolutely lovely museum. ALOT of history throughout and some very unique displays. Been there many times, as a tourist, as a member going to conferences, military balls and such. A lot of good memories there :)

I was a tiny bit older than Daniel is now during the Vietnam war! My mother told me outright the horrible side of war, bec I was so fascinated by the guns, uniforms, tanks & helicopters! 12yrs later I joined the Army (during peacetime)! Most boys don't realize the one true reality of war...and thats death! Im sure you did a great job of explaining that to him...Cheers!

Wow, this is a big improvement over my first visit to the W-R Museum in the early 90s when I was temporarily working in Macon. All the planes were outside on static display. You could walk around them & take photos but not touch. As I recall they had a MiG-15 back then. I don't mean to detract from MoA WR's obviously excellent efforts but if you're ever in the San Antonio, TX area Lackland AFB on the SW side of San Antonio has large static display of all of the significant military aircradt from circa WW II up to the F-16. ringing the parade field. I was last there in Summer 2015 and it's possible things have changed but I think they allowed the general public access to view the aircraft. I'll add one caveat: my visit was during the Summer and the temperature was around 103 F, so I came back another day when it was cooler which worked out fine. Remember, it's in South Texas!

Every plane plane has a story and is a legend there but the sr 71 has to be the best. It friggin could out fly a missile lock on!!

That is a great place to visit!! I can suggest if you are ever in the Dayton Ohio area that you stop of Wright Patterson AFB as well they have a great museum too!! Glad you guys are back to traveling.. Georgia is not the best place to break down :(
