We are a Latino family of four (Robert, Jessica, Daniel, and Nadia) who learned and traveled together in our 2016 Forest River Grey Wolf 26DBH Travel Trailer for five years.
Somehow, we balanced life, fun, and roadschooling while handling unexpected RV and truck repairs and rainy days. We kept a positive attitude and were reminded why we were doing things differently every day.
We have one life, and we are making the most of it.
We are now in a house but still walking and paddling around the country.
We are moving into an rv because we have to. I just got a storage unit. I dont really know what im doing and im depressed about. Im trying to look at this as an adventure but im scared. Im glad you all shared this because im overwhelmed.
Hang in there. No one ever really knows what they are doing when they move into an RV, even if it was intentional. Sending you some love. Apopka, Florida :) 30 minutes north of Orlando. It's gorgeous. One of our favorite places. I wrote about it if you want to know more: walkandpaddle.com/unleash-your-inner-adventurer-paddleboarding-in-kings-landing-central-florida/
Thank you for posting what it is like to receive chemo. I have a biopsy next week to see if I have lymphoma. If I do have it and I need chemo, I feel less scared now. Is the 24 hour chemo infusion the norm? How do you fit in a shower during the week if you have a chemo bag attached and or a bone marrow medication attached to your stomach? Should I count on spotty showers during the week of treatment? Also, did you ever develop an infection or viral infection during treatment? I’m so glad to see you doing well today and you had some nice thick hair growing when this was filmed!
Hey! There were two options for me. This one avoided radiation at the end, so that's why I chose it. I didn't shower that whole week. I just did sponge baths. I got sick towards the end of my chemo. I went to the beach with a friend and our kids and got it from one of them. Otherwise I was OK. Thank you. I'm here if you have other questions. jessica@walkandpaddle.com
My family of 7 soon to be 8 because I’m expecting are moving into our camper this weekend, we are already finished with the process of getting everything and I was so excited to be done and now that it’s time to move in I am so nervous! My question is how did your kids transition did they love it at first or hate it, how did that look for your family
Hi! Aw, congratulations on the new arrival! My kids were really young when we started out, but they did have opinions about it all. My oldest was 6 years old and he was a bit upset. He was sad about his friends, but we made sure to keep up with friendships and we would return home and hang out with these friends. And of course there's the internet so they were able to play together online and video call. I would recommend being patient with them and their feelings. Talk to them often and make sure they know that it's ok for them to have these feelings. Try to find other families that are also living in campers and get together. That will help your kids see that they aren't alone and maybe they can make new friends. Feel free to email me if you want to talk more about it: jessica@walkandpaddle.com
Yup........had the same wonderful morning......ugh...... Why??...... ALUMINUM???......WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING AN AWNING IF ITS GONNA FOLD UNDER A LIL RAIN
You mentioned “Thousand Trails” but I wonder if there is some platform for people to advertise their yard. I mean I have space on my property, but I don’t have an RV park. Do RVrs have some place they look for that kind of situation where I can find a good tenant?
Hey there's Harvest Hosts. We used it some when we were RVing and it provided some interesting places for us to stay. Here's the link (affiliate so we get a commission if you make a purchase): gr3f.co/c/53807/9kcgs
5 minutes and 29 seconds of absolute CRAP FILLER. Guys just get to the fucking point of the videos, no one fucking wants to hear about how you two suck eachothers fucking toenails up and down your asscracks, just fucking SHOW US THE DAMN POINT OF THE VIDEO. No wonder you fuck wads never took off
Hi. I'm sorry that you have to go through this too. I didn't have any real side effects. TMI - but I did get through menopause because of it. Other than that, I pretty much came out ok. But it has taken 4 yours of workouts, yoga, nutrition, etc.
Gratitude is what you get when you give away things! Remember letting go is freeing the mind of material things! It is a hard practice as we like our stuff.
You folks sound down to earth thank you for the great tips. I went from a four bath six bedroom house to a 37 foot fifth wheel just divorced and kids are grown.. But it's a challenge.
I’m thinking about do that, actually I need… Someone knows a place in Connecticut close to Shelton or Milford where I can park an Rv per an entire year or more?
THIS was the video I needed. Still learning about RV stationary life, before I jump in next Spring, and you answered a few questions I wasn't sure about. Thank you!
Pretty much common sense. I’m planning to move permanently to a travel trailer on a stationary place. Compensating for space you can purchase a small building for washer/dryer and storage . Planning and research are the key.
Im so thankful that your sharing this!!! Ive been trying to convince my husband into stationary rv living for a few years now, he's more on board now that rent is going up evwry where..... I know what my have to haves are, but i just want to do it for 2 years, and save for land.....bc paying rent and it constantly increasing is making our dream of owning land a distant goal!!! But if we down size, then we should have land within two years!!!!
