Hello prim friends! My name is Gabriella Moir and welcome to our channel The Cape on the Corner at Tweedthistle Farms, where we love to explore antique shops and homes that are filled with history in early American antiques and primitives that also go well in farmhouse decor and decorating. We are sharing the building process too as we build and decorate our forever home, a Cape Cod style home on our 5+ acres in Ohio where we also have a specialty cut flower farm. Follow along as we share daily life of starting seeds and planting seedlings for the cutting garden, establish new landscaping near our home to try to give it that early look and feel. In the growing season we'll be starting a Shaker kitchen herb garden and so much more. Keep watching!

What a great antique show. Thank you for blogging this for us. I love anything with that beautiful blue color, always catches my eye. The watch box was interesting, the one with the watch inside so you could see how nice that looked. Glad your feeling better Gabby and I want to thank you for your video. I think my husband has this problem so your video pointed this problem out. Take care

I bought two from Mr. Hromy and he shipped them to me!! I am thrilled to find someone who is so kind and knowledgeable! I am obsessed with a lot!! But stone fruit just makes my heart sing! Thank you so much for making this video❤️. I see so many amazing pieces. I think that might be the most Mochaware I have seen at a show. My picks are the black and red child’s shoes, stone fruit, samplers and well… all of it. The Midwest Holiday antique show is held there in May. It is fabulous if you collect old Santas, Halloween and Easter. Thank you again Gabby. And you are so right about the price of admission being worth the learning experience.

Hi Gabby, hope your eyes have calmed down now and you can see so much better now. Love seeing these shows, so special and fascinating. What I'm really curious about is, and this might sound silly but stone fruit? How are these formed, are they made from stone and how are they made to look so realistic, I'd welcome a tutorial.

Love antiques and appreciate a bit of age and wear but everything here looks so manky! If I was selling antiques there I'd be investing in a bit of beeswax polish and some elbow grease so you can actually see the objects rather than the grime.
@Thecapeonthecorner
@Thecapeonthecorner 6 месяцев назад
Lol, well I didn't expect this sort of comment for a show like this, but obviously, the saying is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thankfully true, or there would be a lot more people single for life. I'd suggest doing some research on the value of original patina on the earliest of pieces. I know there is at least one Antiques Roadshow episode where an antique owner displayed their piece, proud of the effort of elbow grease and work they just put into removing that early "grime" from the piece. Only to be informed that they had removed 95% of the value from the piece by removing the untouched patina. You do you. Thanks for watching. 😉 😜 😘
@alexmac337
@alexmac337 6 месяцев назад
@@Thecapeonthecorner nah, there's a difference between patination and grime and most of that stuff in the video looked utterly grimey. In regards to their value - just how much valuable is there in something like a well worn chopping board? Lol, we're not talking Louis XIV furniture here! Some of that stuff could look amazing and I guess all I'm saying is just show these things a bit of love - replace the broken glass panels, give the wood a bit of feeding, get rid of the rust and the dust, make the objects shine rather than leaving them looking like they've just come out of a skip.
