The fact that not a single episode of Mushishi shares the same ending music as any other never ceases to amaze me. I can't think of another piece of cultural creation which has that level of creativity and consistency in itself. Add to it the fact that all those songs feel so different and so connected at the same time. To me the episodic nature of Mushishi is its greatest strength. Is what allowed me to keep watching it over and over for more than 15 years, and that wich will let me keep watching it for another 15 years. P.D: I'm more of a lurker in the youtube comment sections, but seeing how everyone commenting on any soundtrack video of mushishi is so full of love for this masterpiece and the general wholesomeness of its community made me try to express at least a little bit how important this anime is for me.

I love watching Mushishi over and over again. It never gets old. I love watching it on cold days, curled up in a blanket, eating dried ramen noodles. It sounds weird but each to their own, I suppose. Then again, I know we all love this show that's why we went out of our way to find the soundtrack on YT :)

So many animes give you life lesson but i agree mushishi hits very hard. Very humbling show that makes you appreciate your life whether it be being healthy, spending time with love ones or simply being alive unlike some beings in the show that wander in the dark with no purpose.

Just wanted to say, I'm so happy this awesome soundtrack is getting to people from all over the world, there are things that connect us as human beings. Please keep in mind I didn't add any advertisement, if you see any I'm not getting money from it. Also, many may remember that I also had on my channel the Kara no Kyōkai soundtrack (splitted in 2 videos) but youtube took it down due to copyright, this could happen with this video as well, so try to download it if you really like it. That said, a little offtopic if you don't mind... this is the only chance I will probably have in my life to raise a collective awareness about what is going on with our modern society. Please don't trust the media regarding the climatic change, listen to scientific, trust only what seems to be legit, we are experiencing the 6th mass extintion before our eyes, we have very little time to act as human race to prevent the global warming from completely collapse our ecosystems, ecocidal capitalism is not sustainable and we need to find a different way to consume products and produce food. Try to eat less meat, vote for politicians who actually care to support clean energies and respect our mother nature since we need her to stay alive! Sorry for the little off topic. “The Alley Through the Pillow” is my favorite song from the soundtrack. So much emotion can be felt: sadness, loneliness, empathy, understanding and shame. When I’m at my lowest I look up this song and just cry it out. It touches my heart in areas I have hidden 🥺

Some songs thrust me into a depressive state, or more depressive state despite loving every single song. They're so tied to the fates of the people whom Ginko tries to help/save... but he isn't always successful. Those songs are so tinged w sadness it just tears me up. I dunno, empathy can be quite shitty.

Empathy is a rare gift, but I do agree it can be a handicap from a subjetive point of view. I felt similar way with some of the stories and characters, however the whole anime itself stays in my mind as a pleasant journey even if the soundtrack evokes me sad memories.

Just found this anime, what a gem. Music 10/10, with artwork so beautiful you can get lost in it... every background picture in the first season is like its own masterpiece painting. Unique concept/storyline with standalone episodes. I love the "traveler slice-of-life" genre, if you could call it that, i.e. Kino's Journey (the ORIGINAL tyvm), Tsukikage Ran, Mushi-Shi... they're all brilliant. Go toke it up and give this series a late-night binge, you won't regret it.

Já assisti mais de 1000 animes e nunca vi nada igual mushishi .. não tem nada parecido com esse anime ..não precisa ordem cronológica pra assistir..tem episódios com histórias relativamente pesados mas é tão leve ao mesmo tempo ..tem um desenrolar lento o começo é bem devagar e confuso ..no final não dá explicações de nada ..é cheio de lacunas .. é perfeito ..normalmente eu não costumo reassistir nenhuma obra mas mushishi vira e mexe assisto alguns episódios específicos é uma obra totalmente contemplativa uma obra prima

An amazing anime.I remeber first watching it after I came from hiking and was really tired so I just put mushishi on and it felt calming and the same relaxing feeling of hiking. I just love mushishi I used to see like 2 episodes on night and it was autum and the wind blowing the leaves and the autum chill gave it more atmosphere as I watched Mushishi drifting to sleep and I felt so calm I would fall asleep in the last half of an episode not beacuse it was boring but I was so relaxed without a worry and I would wake up so relaxed. Ok I wrote too much unneeded words but Mushishi holds a special place in my life how I see things and a special place in my heart. Thank you for this amazing ost!

Mushi-shi got me through some tough times, maybe it will again, just watching an episode seems to heal you. People are right, there is no other anime like it. If you haven't watched it, don't expect it to be like any other anime, just let it take you, or you may be disappointed, and that would be a waste.

Mushishi is my favorite anime. I bought the series on dvd and read the manga. I've listened to the several hour version ost back when it was available, but since it's gone, I've been listening to this one instead. I've listened to this music countless times. When I first watched this anime back in 2011, I was alone in college and desperate not to be. I had never selected an anime to watch on my own like that before this moment. You see, I was with siblings, and they were younger and more on the vein than I was at the time. So they picked everything for us to watch. I didn’t mind, they were always bangers and I am so appreciative of what they showed me then, still today. But this, I found this, I searched for this with high standards and was pleasantly surprised to find it was in the Top 20 anime’s of AnimeList (super popular at the time) so I plopped myself down one lonely dorm day, and binged the f out of it. I couldn’t stop. It was incredible. More amazing than Ergo Proxy. I was blown away. Truly, it remains my favorite anime to this day. Nothing but XxXHOLiC, Durara!!!, and :Brotherhood even comes close. It’s just the way it is, it’s beautiful. It’s life. I’ll never not be moved when I watch this. I know all the songs. I look for the Mushi-Shi in everyday life. The connections and knowledge found in this are infinite. I can’t speak enough for this anime but I could also speak volumes. But my goodness, the music. And that’s why I’m here. Again. Not studying, but just enjoying. It’s amazing almost 12 years later. And always. Edit: omg Shin’en ( Abyss ) is my favorite song. I never stop singing it. It’s always in my head. Ahhhh the musician’s curse!!!

abyss?? interesting choice, I've always found it uneasy sounding, but now that I listened closely it reminds me of rain, like you're in a desolate place with no one around, it's cloudy and serene and raindrops just fall and fall

@@hiendarinenkoray haha yes! I’ve always been a fan of bittersweet melodies. It’s like the song starts off confused, wondering where and why, and then slowly it builds into a realization that life isn’t meaningless. Even in the abyss. And just as soon as the climax comes, and you feel like you know why you’re here and why you’re actually not alone, the conclusion settles everything for you. It’s a confirmation, like an explanation of the roller coaster that is life. To me, I’m left complete. Fear, anxiety, failure- all turn into acceptance with this song. But music is subjective, that’s what makes it magic.

College is a helluva ride, but it’s worth it for the experience. I can’t say I relate to you now (obviously) but I can say good luck! Watched this anime a while back. It’s still so good! ❤️ I would rewatch for the feels though and the soundtrack. One eyed fish is my favourite song on this playlist.
