Try this sumptuous Spaghetti with Mushrooms and some Veggie Side Dish and Garlic Toast. The earthly flavored from the mushrooms, the crunchy veggies and garlic toasted bread. Divine!
Ingredients
Cooking the Pasta Noodles
• 3-4 quarts water (for boiling the pasta noodles)
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1/2 large sweet onion, sliced (use only handful and save the rest for the sautéed veggies)
• 1 (32 oz) bottle basil and garlic pasta sauce (use good quality brand)
• 1/2 cup pasta water
• 2-3 cups sliced mushrooms (of choice)
• salt and pepper to taste
Sautéed Veggies
• 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
• 6-8 garlic cloves, crushed and sliced
• 1/2 large sweet onion, sliced (used handful for cooking the ground beef and/or spaghetti)
• 1/2 large red bell peppers, julienned
• 1/2 large green bell peppers, julienned
• 1 cup matchsticks carrots
• salt and pepper to taste
• 1-2 tsp crushed chili flakes (optional)
Garlic bread
• 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled down
• 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
• 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp dried parsley (you may also use fresh)
• 4 slices bread
Garnish
• parmesan cheese (flakes, grated or ground)
• few leaves fresh basil
