This and most of their shorts are filmed in the Oviedo Mall in Orlando Florida where Pattycake Productions is located. Pattycake is where Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci film most of their videos. Owned by Layne Stein, beatboxer and former member Tony Wakim. Tony wanted to go behind the scenes and help rather than be out front Layne and Tony screenwrite their own Disney related videos. All live with extremely talented actors and actresses. Villains Haunted Mansion, Bump In The Night, The Villains Lair series are their most popular.
Love the reaction. Not a green screen. It is in a real mall, outside Pattycake Productions where a lot of their videos are filmed. It was meant to be a short, but Layne had too much fun arranging it so we were blessed with the whole song.
This was supposed to be a short but Layne got carried away. This is filmed in the Aviedo Mall outside of Layne and Tony's PattyCake Productions studio. They do many of their shorts and minis in the mall early in the morning before many of the shops are open. Free working space.
I am sure this lifted many spirits when it came out! They seem to have so much fun and take us with them... but the vocals were awesome and Layne's arrangement perfect. Thank you kindly for your reaction. 🌹🕊
This is so much fun. You have to smile. :) So much to see you have to watch several times to see it all. No green screen. This is outside Layne's Pattycake productions studio in a shopping mall. VP and Geoff shoot many of their videos in the studio and they do many of their shorts and minis in the corridor outside , like this one. They do it in the early morning before many people are around, though you do see the odd person shopping in the background.
Last minute switch from doing a short to a full length, with no steady cam available - so they went ahead and shot it on a phone, just as they do with their shorts and minis.
So good to see you again, from any angle! I think you have to catch up a bit with VP and Geoff. Have you done the formers "Sleeping In The Cold Below" or their latest, "Black Hole Sun?" And Geoff has some amazing new vids too, like "Wicked Game" and "Unshaken!""
Hope you see this as it has been awhile since you originally posted this, but I prefer to only make suggestions on a video of the same performers. Since you mentioned the 'groove' (almost as good as funky!) I thought I would point you towards Geoff's current newest on his solo channel. He has made a much more testosterone filled version of "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" originally by Jim Croce in the '70s. I'm pointing to it mostly because I think you will like the 'groove' he has given it. The original was much more 'bouncy' or 'boppy'. Geoff felt it was a bit too happy for a song about a fight. Even if you don't do a reaction, I think you will want to check it out for yourself. Sorry, I'm retired and just don't have the funds to often 'buy coffees'. I would if I could, as I really enjoy your work. This is just not the month for me to do so.
I'd also like to suggest that you look at their cover of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel". It has a really sexy, smooth jazzy feel to it that gives it their own spin. aq real change, yet still honors the original.
